I had a lovely run this afternoon. For the first time I really enjoyed myself!
I have now graduated from doing the "dogsh1t fandango" around my local park, and today I ran the length of the Limehouse Cut (east end of London) from Bromley-by-Bow station to the Thames. The main challenge was having to "run like an Egyptian" at some points, flattening myself against the towpath wall so that cyclists and other runners could pass me. However, when I got to the second 3-min run I was actually thinking "rats - only one more run to do!"
Considering that I was struggling to do 60 seconds down one path a few weeks ago, this feels epic!
Now on to W5 (gulp)!

Thanks guys! I seem to be getting into it much more than I expected. I think if I tell myself "I have to do X minutes of effort" then it seems like a big challenge, but if I say "I'm going to run beside the canal and see lots of lovely new things" I look forward to it.
I'm still doing my middle-aged shuffle (I suspect there are glaciers in Greenland that travel faster than me in my "running" mode) but it is getting easier all the time.
