Well tonight i started week 2 i was going to go tomorrow morning because of the bad weather but it stopped raining so off i went unfortunately the rain and wind didn't stay away, i tried to go a bit slower tonight to see if that would stop my lower legs getting so achy well it didn't lol i seem to average about 5 miles an hour but if i go any slower i would be walking all the way through, i found the runs fine but again it was the walks in between i found harder on my legs despite a 10 min walk first and stretching before and after, also didn't help that at every turn i almost literally ran into different groups from the local running club which was a bit off putting ,hopefully run 2 will be ok fri morning i thought it would be my lungs that wouldn't cope at first not my legs but my lungs are fine just wish my lower legs would play ball but hopefully that will happen when they more used to running.

Keep at it. I had achey legs and tight calves (especially bad in the walks) in the first couple of weeks but that's really eased off now.

I had exactly the same in week 2. Week 3 it is a slight niggle, but nowhere near as bad as week 2!

All those runners started somewhere too. Don't let them faze you. Try doing some stretches for your calves after your run. It will definitely get easier. I found the aching calves the hardest part of running in the beginning too but it passes.

Hi thanks luckily it was dark, it's not my calves that ache but the front of my lower legs halfway between my ankle and my knees hopefully they will ease up a bit more on each run.

Just done w2r2 and it went ok my legs ached still but not as much as mondays run so hopefully making a bit of progress there, the run itself was ok i could actually see where i was running for once running in daylight,i slowed right down and turned off the interval information as it was distracting me as i was concentrating on the distance i covered rather than the running itself i even carried on for a bit on the last run to see if i could manage 3 minutes which i did but only just ,well i hope everyone has a good weekend im going to do w2r3 on monday morning as i have my kids this weekend and i don't think they would appreciate being dragged out for a run.
