Was apprehensive about W6R3 this morning being 5 minutes more than I had run before but after the first 5 minutes I was puffing a bit but was quite surprised that after 12.5 minutes I felt exactly the same and this continued all the way to minute 24 when Laura challenged me to speed up for the last 60 seconds.
I accepted her challenge and was then seriously puffing a minute later but was a great sense of achievement to have got this far without incident.
Wow fantastic, it's such a great achievement and I promise that your breathing does settle as your fitness improves. I used to think I was going to die most of the time!!!! Haha!
It's the breathing that gets me at the moment so in glad to hear that gets better. I'm only on week 2 but I get so out of breath. Can't imagine running for any length of time
Just slow right down and concentrate on the breathing it's so important. Don't think about the speed or distance too much it's not really couch to 5k it's couch to 30 minutes and the distance will come later when the fitness kicks in and that will happen over the next few weeks. Listen to Laura ....somehow it all works and you'll be doing comfortable 5 min runs then progressing upwards with longer runs without too many issues. It's all in the mind if you follow the program so keep positive. We all doubted our ability and lots of us have got through the doubts by being positive. It works Good luck
You are in a fantastic place now because there is very little increase in run time to graduation, if you can run for 25, 30 is only 5 more! Fantastic achievement and just enjoy clocking up the runs and building your fitness. Looking forward to your week 7 news, I remember feeling great on week 7 and loving it all the way to graduation from there
