Here we are at the weekend at the end off the Quest please feel free to post how the Quest has been for you and if you wish your longest run to add to the Virtual Run.
Katherine's Quest the final - new one starting... - Couch to 5K
Katherine's Quest the final - new one starting Monday.
My longest run this Quest has been 10km
I can do 10km but honestly at the moment I think my body is happier with 7k. Even though I have a 10km event next week. After that I will go back to my slow build again.
Can't believe this is the last week! But I say that every quest!
Well a mixed quest for me. I succeeded in increasing my cadence but my overall goal of running 10 miles didn't happen because I started to get aches and pains and reduced my mileage for a few weeks. Think I was a bit ambitious with that one!
My longest run was 13K.
I am just back from a lovely boggy 5K and very happy to be able to add that to our virtual journey. I haven't achieved any of the exact goals I set for this Quest... but I am feeling positive that I have done what I can towards them. Now I think about it, I set goals which all rather relied on someone else in some way in the circumstances, so I should think about that for the next Quest....
Not a good quest this time, hampered by the dreaded cough / chest infection. 5k is my longest, and I have only managed to do 2 parkruns alongside a number of shorter runs. Admittedly RWC tickets and holiday got in the way a bit too, as I had 3 Saturdays in Twickenham during the quest plus 1 in the Cotswolds. Think I am back to normal now except tomorrow's high winds will probably preclude parkrun
Can't say I've kept to all the goals I set myself for the quest but, generally, I really enjoyed it. My longest run was 6k- The journey to 10k is on!!
Not that good for me. Work, manflu and life got in the way. 2 weeks in the middle with no runs at all. Runs that I got out on were good tho.
On the plus side though, boat is finally home and I've managed to shed 4 of the kg that summer gave me - would be nice to get a few decent meals in though!
Thanks to rfc for doing these. I must try harder next time though.
I loved the quest it was the motivation I needed to get to my aim of 10K. This is now my favourite distance and I run it twice a week. I have also got a PB of 33.45 at Parkrun (no walking) so very happy with that and I am sure my new distance has helped my 5K speed up ! My longest distance was 12.5K Happy running everyone
Sadly, it's been really hard for me to manage my target of 2 (or more - haha, no chance!!) runs a week. We've had some spectacular downpours (almost 2 inches in an hour standard) and thunderstorms (I personally don't think it a good idea to run while there's lightning about, then the storms can go on for hours and hours) and I've had a cold (absolutely streaming for days and days), and of course I've been incredibly busy. And now this morning I woke early without setting my alarm and have a very strange pain down near my ankle, so don't want to risk it. Will go later in the day if the pain disappears!
So after that list of excuses, I have to admit that I think I managed to run 5 times altogether, with the furthest one a measly 4.87km.
I think I have some work to do between now and the end of the year if I'm going to be back into any sort of routine....
Up and down for me, had some great runs, and some not so great runs...it included my travel home which always knackers me not, quite sure why...still, I've had a couple of PBs and my longest run was 12K, my longest ever.
I did not do well on this Quest... So on to the next one
My longest run over the last 6 weeks was a measly 4.6k, which was my running tourism one, incidentally. I have really lost my enthusiasm for running at the moment and just can't be bothered to get out there. I don't know if it's because I don't have anything to aim for, or because I don't feel like I'm progressing in some way, but I'm not feeling the love at all. I hate running in the rain - I know some people love it but I really don't, so it doesn't take much to put me off, and the weather closing down for the winter is a bit depressing. But hopefully I'll be able to fire myself up for the next Quest - it's a new start, yes?
I managed 3 runs most weeks and 2 every week. Longest was my new best distance of 13k - I'm more than happy with it. Also got a new 5k pb.
Thanks to rfc for organising us and for the motivation. It definitely helps.
Some good speed sessions, other weeks not so much. Won't be doing much speed now. You can feel winter in the air which means ice. Longest run was 6 k.
