Longest run this time 17km. Going to try it again tomorrow to make sure it wasent a fluke. Not sure I am a big fan of these longer runs. Love the feeling being out for so long but the prep to make sure I am fuelled for it is so time consuming and it's turning me off my food. Not that there has been any weight loss, another side effect of longer runs is weight loss has halted. I am ready for some fun funs after my HM.
My longest run was 12.5 km last Sunday. This was a step up from the 10k I had practiced and the last couple of k really hurt, but as someone else said here "pride and adrenaline will get you a long way".
This last quest definately got me out there on a couple of really manky days, although i also skipped some planned runs due to illness. Thanks for organising RFC. I'm looking forward to the next quest !
Longest run for me was my 13.1 miler of a still-can't-believe-little-old-me-did-it half marathon 😊
My longest run of the quest was 8 km, which is also my longest run to date
I had a mixed bag this quest as I took a whole 9 days off running and then decided not to push my body into a 10K once a week! Instead I downloaded a MyAsics plan for my 10K in May and must admit am finding this harder! There are so many fast runs and I much prefer slower longer runs.
Anyway, stuck to my pilates, didn't do too well at the gym this quest but my longest run was 10.5K. Thank goodness I did this in the first week.
Thanks for organising RFC and here's to the next quest.
Longest has been 10k. Glad to be up to this again, though it seems to be the max my knee can cope with, it's far better at about 7k so might stick to that for a while.
Only one run this week. Doing the family thing. Nice long walk along the coast/estuary at Maldon/Heybridge on Friday though.
Well done everyone and thanks RFC for running these.
Look at it this way it is way more than you were doing when you were sitting on your couch before you started, so Any runs no matter time or distance are great. Plus they are are all health giving. So if you went out your already in a win win situation. Less of the frowny faces. X.
Overall, a good quest for me, although I've had a few niggles with my left thigh. My longest run was 11km. Also I went for my first run yesterday morning with a local community running group which was good - everyone was very friendly and we covered 7.5km at a fairly relaxed pace. Looking forward to the next quest.
Hi all, my longest run during the quest has been 7.5km which is my longest ever so I'm pleased with. I'm going to push on to get to 10k now (she says hopefully!)
I can't report a long run I am afraid. I was running 3.5k or thereabouts in 30 minutes when I graduated 5 or 6 weeks ago, and my goal was (and is) to build up to running 5k in 40 minutes or less. I spent 3 of the weeks since graduation in Kuala Lumpur, adding heat, humidity and heavy workload onto my challenge. Suffice to say I haven't made huge progress, longest run to date is 4.2k in 37 minutes, completed on Friday. I now have new shoes and hope to build up to 5k in the next two or three weeks although I think it's likely to be in more than 40 minutes for now.
Madge, you only get a day off! Back out then for a recovery run which should be a nice, slow, leisurely jog to run off any niggles. Then you start building slowly back up again. Don't stop!
I feel a bit of a let down running wise this week. Done more dog walking than running. I didn't do a long run at all this week. The longest run on my plan is 7k, which I should have done yesters, but due to an extra long dog walk, I didn't do it. I am doing it in a mo once my muesli has gone down
