I did my first run today, r1w1. Very hard work, pumping with sweat, gasping for breath!
Didnt quite manage 20 mins but will do on my next run.
Enjoyed it though, even though i thought i was going to die. Ha.

Well done, glad you enjoyed it. Believe it or not it does get easier
Getting out the door and committing to W1R1 is a great achievement... keep going... loads of support and advice available here
Well done Bram, you have taken that first step , always the hardest one and now youre off the couch and on your way.
Don't be afraid to repeat any runs, just go at your own pace , and if youre gasping for breath, slow it right down.
Rest day tomorrow and don't forget your stretches ! xxx
Keep going u will do it! X
I will, thanks for the reply.
Well done for taking the first step - and welcome to the madhouse. Keep at it, and keep us all posted on your progress. You've got this!
Maybe slow down your pace and breathe slowly to help you. As the weeks progress, there are increasingly longer runs and this helped me through. If I was sweating with my heart racing, not sure I would have been able to keep going but I am on week 9 next week, so unbelievably only 8 weeks ago I struggled to run for a minute and I can now run for 30! Ridiculous really as I am 51 and still have 28 lbs to lose. Slow and steady will avoid injury too - and enjoy a rest day, I have had no injury and have relaxed like a pampered princess between run days LOL! Julie
You won't die and it does improve, honest!
Well done for getting started.
Take it really, REALLY, slowly - good luck!
Congratulations on starting the programme. I've just started week 8 and am still really enjoying it.
Well done on starting. You are going to grow to love this forum and running, prepare yourself...
Well done bram.
The first step on a fabulous journey of self discovery and improvement.
Just slow down.
It is better to run for one minute slowly than go all out for 45 seconds.
Congrats on starting this great programme.
