Just completed week 1 run 1 of this and I found it okay! Shocked to say the least as previous times I’ve struggled. Excited for run 2 and 3 this week! Does it actually work though?? We’ll see!

Yes it does work, I am living proof - Week 8 and counting.

Good luck with the next few weeks, you will surprise yourself!

It seems promising from reviews I’ve read. Well done you!! And thank you!

Based on my own experience (almost finished W7) I'd say yes. In all honesty, I actually found W1 to be the hardest just because of the seemingly never ending repetitions. I've enjoyed it more as the runs have got longer and the repetition less.

Ah that sounds promising! Well done on getting so far in, will definitely keep at it!

Welcome. It works... I spent 30 years working on maximising my unfitness levels, and was amazed how quickly I undid all that “hard work”. Great job on the first run, enjoy 2 & 3, you can do this.

No way that’s so good! Thank you!!

Well done! I did my first run yesterday, I’m the same as you a bit dubious to see if it works but today even through the aches and pains there’s a new little voice in my head saying “maybe you should go tomorrow instead of Thursday like you planned?” I don’t understand where this voice has come from lol.

Hopefully it sticks for both of us!

__fattofit profile image
__fattofitGraduate in reply toTFG89

Thank you! Well done to you too! Must be good if there’s a voice trying to convince you lol. Will definitely try my best to stick to it. Good luck you can do it! X

If you have a plan stick to it but if you need it, take a extra day. No-one’s counting!

Does it work? Yes! Bonkers but it’s true! Week 1 is hard because it’s all so new, weeks 2 and 3 appear daunting but you’ll be fine. Enjoy 😊

Ahh that makes sense tbh! Excited to see, thank you! 😊

Although I have to be honest even after graduation I don’t enjoy the actual running ! I am still slow but erratic pace ...it still feels hard to do!! I curse in my head when I am running ...so not yet hit thar smiley breezy stage but once I have stretched ...started breathing again ..I can’t wait few days later to go again. Expect miracles ...as ok you will do it ! Get to 30 mins...but don’t think we all turn into Mo Farrah! ..2 weeks after graduation, it’s still hard work ..but the sense of achievement after every single run/walk/crawl ...is priceless.

Well done on starting! I’m extremely unfit and am actually just completing week 1 for the second time as I found week 2 a bit too much on my wonky knee. I’ve slowed it down even more the second time around and it’s going much better! The hardest part is getting started, but the main thing is to keep going - remember that you are already doing more than a lot of people out there! Well done!

__fattofit profile image
__fattofitGraduate in reply toNamGirl

Thank you! Will definitely keep that in mind! Well done for not giving up!

It works, providing you do. I am four weeks on from you. Slimmer waistline and ran twenty minutes yesterday. I can’t believe it either!

Read the FAQs and go slow! Good luck.

Next week is less runs and longer rests. Look forward to it.

YouTube Japanese slow running. Think advice on speed, body position, breathing. Recommended.

Slow running is better than NO running.

Well done - honestly, you'll start loving it soon and wake thinking "Yay I'm going for a run today!" (no I didn't believe it either, but it's true for me!)

It definitely does work! I was completely a non runner...not even for a bus...graduated last August, still doing 2 to 3 runs each week, though I can't run 5k in 30 mins. That doesn't matter though! I can proudly say I'm now a runner😊

__fattofit profile image

It really really really does work. Stick to the programme and you will get there. (I am going for a post graduation run 10 this morning - 5K in 45 minutes last time I Strava'd). I am out there and loving it. Unexpected bonuses for me - graduating gave me a real sense of achievement as I was always naff at all things sporty other than swimming which I can't do now. It is helping keep depression at bay as I care for my mum with Alzheimer's. A great forum with like minded folk when you need information, support and to share your experiences - so looking forward to hearing more as you progress through the weeks if you want to post. And now all it takes is the time to don my running shoes and I am out there running woo hoo! Enjoy your running journey and looking forward to seeing you over the finishing line. SPx

It does work, I’d consider myself testament to that. I started 12 weeks ago, completely unfit and very overweight and just wanting to get to the end of the 9 weeks then stop. I graduated a few weeks ago and am now running a full 5k 3 times a week and love it. The lessons I learned were to go slow, then slower, then slower again. Don’t be demoralised by less successful runs, there’s always a lesson to learn. All the best, you can do it! X
