I can assure you, there is NO WAY you can struggle more than I did on week 1.. particularly with the breathing .. but i was just commenting recently how interesting is IS now that one recovers so quickly from running now

Yes yes! You've used the correct word there. It most definitely gets better, if not easier. All that effort you put into that run? Well, you'll continue to put in just as much, but you'll go further, stronger. You'll still feel tired at the end of the run, but you will grow to wear it as a badge of honour. A great first step on the way.

It's really really important to stretch properly after a run to avoid your muscles hurting for the next couple of days. The link below is to the recommended stretches for after a run, from the NHS Choices website. If you do these, your achy muscles will be a thing of the past.

Yes it does get better. My first run was dreadful, but it was the worst run of the whole lot. None of it is easy, but you have definitely got off to a great start. Keep it slow and do the stretching and in nine weeks when you've run for 30 minutes (you probably don't think that's possible, but it is) you'll look back and wonder what all the fuss was about.

It will get better as you get fitter, My legs usually ache a bit after I have pushed myself but that's why we have rest days! You have done the hardest bit actually starting keep up the good work ! :)

It does get better - and it's worth the hard work to get there - it's not easy mind, so keep it up and you will reap the rewards!

Promise you it gets easier. I don't think it's ever easy , because you'll be going farther and, possibl, faster. You've done the hardest bit by getting your backside off the couch and starting this program.

Good luck!!!
