I managed to run day 1 week 2 and it wasn't too bad. I took everyones advice to go really slow and it did help my breathing but it seemed to be harder on my legs. Going slower made me feel heavier somehow like I was running through a swamp, but it wasn't as tiring for my breathing. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just weird?

That's a very nice picture twiglet78. Yes some days it does feel like running through treacle, then others it's like floating on air. You may find as your runs get longer you get into a better rhythm. If that makes sense. 😄
Lovely picture. It will get easier as you progress. Make sure you are well hydrated before you start - I have found my legs feel better if I drink plenty of water every day, rest days too, rather than just filling up for the run itself.
Ha ha like I've noted previously sometimes I feel like a gazelle when running but more often than not a hippo and don't forget the times I am a tortoise or a snail either! Enjoy it! 😃😃
I find trying to run much slower than my natural pace does often feel like a heavy impact way of running. I try to concentrate on foot strike being optimum for the pace and although I am then convinced that I am lighter on my feet, I haven't managed to analyse exactly how I have changed things.
Invariably I revert to something nearer my natural pace, because it is easier.
Haha, what a nice way to properly introduce yourself, with a lovely photo at the top of your post. Maybe we should make that a thing of the forum! Yes, slowing down can be a little counter-intuitive, especially in the early weeks. It takes a lot of focus and concentration to stay slow. It will help your fitness increase though without you realising. As you go through the programme you will find a rhythm that suits you. Well done for starting Week 2!
I managed to delete the massive photo!
