My longest run for this Quest was 16km. It's been a very up and down quest for me a whole week without running and my longest run for months. Two ends of the spectrum. I also completed my Sports relief swim and speed walk.
A pretty successful Quest for me with key goals being one offs.
Let's start with what didn't happen - I won't be under 70kgs by Sunday. I've checked and I weigh exactly the same as I did at the start of the Quest, despite fluctuations in either direction.
I also aimed to do an online yoga class every week and a meditation/relaxation session. I have certainly started a yoga class every week but even with a gentle class getting to the end eludes me eg alternate nostril breathing, I can't keep my arms up for very long.
I achieved my bike ride
I achieved my kilometre swim
I achieved my run of 7km+ - it was 7.53kms
11.93 km
My longest run was 12k.
Training for a 10 mile race is going well
Still running with jog group
Still doing the fitness dvd
Dog walking aplenty
Been to WW class today and stayed the same, which is fine for where I'm at.
Feeling positive ☺
Long run this weekend will be 13k
Longest run for me was 6.72 K. Kept off the IC. Did a 12 mile cycle ride.
I missed my 3x 5k runs per week goal, as I did not run at all last week but I joined my first parkrun (and I am going to join the second one tomorrow) and I managed a 7.66k yesterday, my longest run so far.
My longest run was 10.5 k. It was not intended and I paid for it with shin splints. I achieved my 3x a week running goal, although I didn't run last week (due to shin splints). My problem will be staying sensible and not pushing too far, too fast. It's all still very exciting and there is so much to do!
My longest run was 10.1 miles....can't believe I just wrote that, got my first medal too. 🏅
Wow, that's an impressive distance! 😳
Oh my, 10.1 miles sounds like to the moon and back!
At mile 8 it felt like I was trying to get to the blooming moon, it was definitely tough! I only really post on the quest now (having moved more onto Facebook c25k pages) but I remember you, how you doing?
My longest run was 8k, which was, I believe, the goal for this quest - to go beyond seven! Of course, then I pulled a muscle and spent a week on the couch.... I'm getting there :-).
I also was very pleased this morning to send husband off with an android c25k app, and to welcome him home from a successful W1R1! He celebrated with a beer, and a large ham sandwich, and now he is asleep, so we'll see how that goes
My longest run was 7k, I really enjoyed that one ! xxx
I blush to post my longest run as it's only 3k. Have been plagued with asthma all this year. Hope the warmer, drier weather (when it eventually arrives) will finally sort me out, because I'm missing my running so much.
Please don't blush. For quite a few of us that represents 30 minutes running, everything else is just the icing on the cake.
(Although it must be rough to be held back from what you feel you could be doing)
I'm also thinking back to when 3k would have felt like such a huge distance so take heart, you got out, and hopefully your asthma will improve when the weather changes
My longest run was 10.1k.
It's been a mixed Quest, this one. I've done some running tourism, I've had my 4th runniversary, I've been benched for a week, and I've probably run the most distance in the last 5 weeks that I've run for a while: 80km. I've also put on 2lbs and then lost 5lbs, so a net loss of 3lbs.
Thanks again for organising us, Rfc, and thanks to everyone on here for the support
Hello Rfc,
I'm new here - but may I join for next week.
I'm hoping to start swimming with 3 x 20mins, and run x4 a week.
Thanks!
Well, a feeble, slow, 5k was the pinnacle this week but some small progress I suppose. Cutting out sugar / going low carb is definitely working for the weight loss but for the first time in living memory my quads ache just walking up hills - not sure if this is related or just some lingering gitty bug from last week's girl-cold. Anyhoo, if it's hard work something must be happening.
Small moan ... training shoes aren't made to last any more are they? Holes in mine already and I seem to have worn gouges out at the achilles bit at the back - making (extra) holes in me socks.
At the beginning of C25K, 5k was the goal wasn't it? So feeble or slow you still ran 5k. Very very impressed with the cutting out of sugar and carbs, I just know that if I lost a bit of weight I'd run easier, but toblerones, rhubarb crumble and gin and tonics make sure I hold on to every pound!!!
Oh gawd, the toblerones I can miss but not sure I could walk past an unloved rhubarb crumble or a gin and tonic.
In fact, the sugar has not been such a hardship since I understood I had an addiction to it rather than just a naughty urge - I absolutely refuse to be ruled by food industry's sabotage attempt at my hormones. I got mad after watching Michael Moseley and then seethed after reading the Lustig book. Am now on a crusade ...
10.5k. Am also happy that I've mostly managed to stick to my HM training plan - apart from when I was sick.
I kept to my running and swimming pattern, but neither increased distance nor my best pace. I think my pace has become more consistent, and I am certainly much more comfortable over 5k now. Longest run 5k (multiple times).
I am really pleased to say that I achieved my three runs a week target but I am most pleased with my longest distance of 8.26k!!! Slow and steady pace and quite a few hilly parts so felt impressed with myself.
Bit late, but my longest was 10k.
Just 4 KM for me, but I'm delighted to have done any at all. I'm building back up slowly, hoping to do a non-stop 5K on Friday. Next quest will be better I hope.
