OK so I'm still on the treadmill but I run the full 20 mins and didn't actually find it as bad as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong my poor legs felt the brunt of 20 mins of my excess baggage and me pounding it, but the mind and breathing were all good. When Laura said 2 mins left I actually felt I could do another 5, however Laura knows best and tbh think the legs were glad that after a final 2 mins they were walking.
I would never have got this far I'm sure without reading all the posts and getting all the positive vibe and support from the lovely people on this site. Thank you all and for those with this week coming up, you're gonna be fine! And sense of achievement is amazing. Good luck to you all, will hopefully be doing my first outside run this week on my weekend away

Brilliant! Well done Julia. Just remember to run very slowly when you go outside. It's easy to go too fast when you transition from the treadmill to outdoors.
Thanks Irishprincess I'll remember that. I don't think I run that fast anyway as I'm quite overweight but it's coming off slowly. I know where I'm going there are a few nice fairly flat lake walks that I can jog round with the kids. If the weather holds up
Thank you so much. I keep looking at other people that run outside but I've not quite got the confidence yet as I do live in a hilly area and don't want to put myself off before I get going. Fingers crossed I get out this weekend and will definitely post. Thanks and good luck .
You are an inspiration! I've just done W5 R1 this morning so not long til I have to do the 20 min run. Well done you!!! The feeling of elation after a successful run takes some beating doesn't it?!!
Ahh thank you MPoodle. I know we aren't far apart in our schedule (not putting runs ha ha) and I must say have been looking forward to see if I could last the full 20. The elation is great and when you do finish just makes you want to do more. Only thing letting me down is the poor old legs. I need to do more stretching.
Good luck with your next two steps. I know your gonna do great. Hope your leg is better and keep up the great work x
Ha ha thanks ancientmum, but just checked week 6 and I've got a 25 min run! That is my first planned outdoor run as well. I just hope the old legs hold out. Told the kids they're coming with me
