Week 3 here I come

Here I am about to start week 3 (run 1 tomorrow). It's been ok - I did week 1 twice (once indoors as I was too scared to venture out! - then outdoors the next week - and nobody stopped and stared or laughed! Week 2 was fine - I even managed in the ice today. Do I like running? No - not really - but I do like being outside and I do like how I feel when it's done! Slightly dreading week 3 as I can just about run for 2 mins - think this one will be my nemesis! I'm also going to eat more healthily this week (all the christmas crap has now gone from the house - so it's home cooked all the way!). Can I run for 3 minutes???????

Of course you can, the programme is designed to get you there! If you can't do it next week you will the week after or so. If you have completed week you are ready for the next one, just listen to Laura and go slowly if you are finding it hard.\

i know what you mean about not liking running much, I felt the same at your stage, didn't like it when I was doing it, but wanted to go again as soon as I stopped! Being outside is great isn't it?

Good luck with next week, let us know how it goes x

Just did week 3 last week (he tried to say in a non-smug voice). I found the 3 minute runs really tough at first, until I found a way of tricking my brain into forgetting about the time. I told myself I'd just run to the next tree / bend / shop / parked car (pick as appropriate), then the next one, then the next one. The time then passed much more quickly because I'd forgotten about the clock. I'm amazed how easy it is to trick me.

Yes you can! Trust Laura and take it slowly and you'll be amazed at what you can do.
