After feedback from the always helpful Instructor57 when I completed my first 5k on Friday, I really wanted to start the week off with a 5k on Monday but I wasn't really feeling it and had a poor nights sleep with both kids waking up throughout.
Last night I made sure I read a few posts to inspire me and decided I'd set my goal this morning. This morning I woke up with a stronger cold compared to what I had over the weekend (my daughter got a cold 2 days after finally going back to school!!) so I decided that I'll download a 2k run on the Nike app with the intention of going quicker than usual.
Off I went this morning and I did just that. I also really enjoyed running in the misy and seeing people all dress up on their way to the train station making me glad that I didn't have to do that anymore.
Before I knew it, I'm half way through so I turn around and head home to finish the 2k with the best pace I've had since finishing the programme. It's a short distance so the average is bound to be quicker and it was only 8'20" but its enough to make the smile on my face bigger than it already was as I know pushing myself to go out for just a 2km was something I knew I wouldn't regret!
