5 reasons for running in the rain...

Just back from W2r3 this morning, and my first ever run in the rain.

I spent a while yesterday looking at the rain and not going out. I was encouraged by Lorraine1108 and so got up today and went out. To be honest I did not look out of the curtains before getting ready, so I did not have an excuse.

I loved running in the rain. Here is why:

1) I did not see anyone else - no dog walkers, cyclists, pedestrians - so no-one to see this particular duck waddling through the village

2) Those annoying little flies that always seem to get in my mouth were missing

3) The temperature was much cooler and more pleasant for running

4) Puddles! As a child I loved puddles, but as an adult I started to fear them, always telling my boys to keep away from them ("Don't get wet!!"). But it is lovely running though a puddle! Like breaking some taboo.

5) When I was running, the rain was not as heavy as it seemed from the house.

So I learned that rain is no excuse, and running in the rain is actually more fun than I expected.

I agree. Running in the rain is nowhere near as bad as you think it will be. I enjoyed it too, very cooling.

Sounds fab! It wasn't raining when I went out this morning so still haven't had the experience yet! I am (after reading rain related posts) quite looking forward to it!

I wear glasses, which is my only rain related concern! How do people get over the fact they can't see while they are covered in droplets!

I wore an old baseball-type hat.

I LOVE running in the rain for all of those reasons! Great run! Good luck for the next one..

PandaRunner - try a running cap or a visor next time.. It helps!

Thanks! Never been a hat wearer so never gave that a thought! W3 retail reward me thinks!

Let me know how you get on. I need glasses too but, like you, would love to experience running in the rain.
