Hope it went well. W5r3 is the best run of all, because when you've done it you KNOW and really believe that you're a runner and that you CAN make it to the end of the programme. Good luck
Yes! What's an extra 5 mins after 20? ... well, it's funny, knowing I only had 5 mins left kind of made it harder. Imagining I had another 10 or 15 made it seem okay if that makes any sense?! I think because I'm not focusing on stopping but on just keeping going instead
Haha! Took me a while to go because I was fiddling about nervously with everything!
It went BRILLIANTLY!!!
First was an exposed windy bit, uphill, then a nice flat bit and then back into down hill all quiet. Then I had to repeat the circuit but it went amazingly. Pacing is everything I am gradually realising.
I can run for 20 minutes!!!! And best of all, my knee is okay
Well done on completing week 5 especially in such wind. You are right to say that you realise that pacing is everything, because...................Week 6! Please treat it with respect because it's possibly the toughest week in the programme and the return to intervals is not a soft option - especially after the euphoria of doing a 20 minute run in W5. It often catches people out. Take W6 very, very slowly (and even slower still) keep calm and steady and you will get through it okay. Good luck with your first run of week 6 and best wishes.
I saw that a lot of people find week 6 hard so I'll make sure I don't go at it like a bull at a gate. Thank you for your continued encouragement, it is very helpful
