W5r3

Had not twigged what w5r3 was about until joining this forum out of curiosity yesterday...now I'm really nervous. Have found the stready progression ok so far. Have sometimes lingered over a stage if life has got in the way. But this sounds like a big jump to be honest. Wonder if to linger at w5r2 for a bit or just "steady as she goes" and a really slow jog....some times I think I can walk faster but it doesn't make me purple!

It is about slow progression and every run does take you on. By peeking, you let a gremlin into your head....!

Just do the run... start slow, then slow down more... just take it nice and steady, know you can do it. No need to linger... you will get knotted up in the next run, just by thinking about it.. just do it.

We will be running with you...I will be the one whispering, slow and steady!

Have no fear. Take it slow and remember all of us felt like that and nearly all of us did it first time. The worst that can happen is you don't manage it and have to try again. If you repeat run 2 today then you definitely won't manage run 3 today. Which would be silly when you can do it and the programme really works. Go for it and you will feel amazing when you do it.

W5r3 for me today! Think it's all about slow and steady! I actually felt good after w5r2 so hopefully a good sign all the hard work has led to a big run! Trying to find a flat route as well would help!

Have I missed something? What is W5r3 about?? I have just done W5r1 this morning and that was tough, haven't looked forward to the next run.

Runs 2 and 3 will be tough too. (That's kind of the point of the programme to keep pushing yourself). But they will also be possible when you get to them. Don't think ahead, don't worry, just go out and run. You will be fine.

I'm just getting up this morning to do this one! It does seem like a heck of a jump, but...W5R2 was much finer than I thought, so I'm kinda banking on this being a mental challenge more than anything. I'm aiming for slow and steady in the running so I can progress through the programme. Everyone here says to trust the programme, so that's what I'm doing! I also figure it doesn't *actually* matter if today is a practice run and I don't quite make it. Gotta be in it to win it, eh? If we don't try it, we *definitely* won't do it!!

Oh super thanks--did the whole thing straight up, pretty much nae bother. Bit of a sprint towards the end as I saw my goal too! @Cornish-girl ...did you manage it??

Wear your purple with pride - means you're moving blood around with gusto! I'm always amazed how much more slowly I can go - whenever I'm struggling I remember Oldfloss and others on this forum saying 'slow down'. If you can walk faster so what? You're not training to walk.

You have already run for sixteen minutes (2x8), so the step up in time is not huge. This is a mind game. If you believe you can do it then you will. Accept the challenge, dispel all fear.

You can do it!

I felt the same, was almost crying when I set off, felt so Intimidated by it but have faith in the program, it wouldn't be there if it wasn't possible. If I did it you can do it, just take it slowly.

Go for it and trust the program, it works. Nice and steady does it and think of it as 4 x 5 minute runs, I was really apprehensive about W5R3 but it honestly wasn't that bad. Good luck ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿป

Definitely do it! Trust the programme it really works and no one thinks wk5 r3 will be easy but once they do it it's the best feeling! Wk 6 r 1 is often harder which doesn't really make sense but is a fact! Look forward to your wk5 r 3 ' I did it ' post!
