Week 6 Run 2 - Ouch!

Good pace always around the circuit I run, Laura says 60 seconds to go, feeling fine and not too fatigued, my head says 5th gear please legs, legs say sorry still in 4th and over I go. Managed to land on my hands and knees, the annoying thing was if it was a minute earlier it would have been a soft landing on soggy a football pitch. Rough canal towpath surface plus 16 stone moving at speed equals lacerated knees and left shin, load of skin peeled of right palm and the wind knocked out of me. Lucky no one was around to see me go flying. Couple of funny looks from folk as I stumbled back home on the warm down brisk walk with the blood running down my legs. I am counting this run as completed. Hope I feel ok for Tuesday afternoon run 3 but bruising should be coming through by then and will probably still be very sore.

Oh, I'm sorry that happened, and how unfortunate where! I hope you heal quickly and are back out there :-)

Ouch indeed! It's a shock when we do these things and you will probably feel really stiff over the next couple of days where you have jolted your body. Give yourself time to heal before tackling run 3, and don't let it affect your confidence. Hope you feel better soon - good luck!

Ouch, you poor thing, what a horrible way to end a successful run. As Ullyrunner says, you may well feel really stiff for a couple of days after such a jolt, so be gentle with yourself and give yourself time to heal. Good luck and take care x

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your tumbling incident. :-( Hope the cuts, bruises and soreness heal soon so you can tackle run three without incident. And it could have been worse, you could have gone into the canal, but thankfully you didn't! Rest easy and good luck for run three, when you feel up to it. :-)

At least the canal would have been a soft landing, the water would have been cold though..lol

oh that's so sad, just as you'd completed, I'd count it as well, absolutely I would, Hope your not to sore, poor you

Absolutely you should count it completed, it was a rotten thing to happen in the last 60 seconds of an otherwise very good run. If you are still feeling sore Tuesday then a day or so's extra rest to heal properly might well be in order - see how you feel in yourself. Hope it does heal soon, good luck with your last run of week 6 and my best wishes.
