I managed it all except for 10-15 seconds at the end of the 7th minute run. A little disappointed, but I only slept for 3.5 hours last night, which probably didn't help. It was quite the struggle, and I even made my husband run with me carrying nitroglycerine spray & an aspirin in case I had a heart attack ( was diagnosed with heart disease in January)! Oh well, on to R2 Friday, with I hope a decent nights sleep tomorrow!
W1R1 completed - almost!: I managed it all... - Couch to 5K

Well done for getting started on C25K and doing your first run. If in doubt, you could check with your doctor that running is okay for you to do - if you haven't done so already. However, as you say, you didn't get much sleep the previous night which wouldn't have helped. Are you taking the runs very slow and steady so that you don't burn yourself out? Also, remember to take your rest days so that the muscles can repair and recover so as to come back stronger. Good luck with your next run and best wishes.
Thanks Fitmo. I'm physically fine, I just have a 40% soft plaque in one of my arteries, like msny, many 40-odd year olds, with the only difference being I know about it, where as most people don't until it gives them a problem! I'm only on a low-dose statin every other day & a baby aspirin. My heart is actually sound, and I passed my exercise stress test with flying colours. It's just my own anxiety that mskes me very wary, and I have to get over that as exercise is one of the best things for me!
Starting is the hard part, so you have already made progress from couch to session one. Keep up the good work and remember to take it easy.
