Ok, this overweight, 61 year old has bitten the bullet! Am sooooooo inwardly smug at the moment about doing my first run.....the first run in many, many years.
Sun was shining this morning, pavements were dry and old trainers looked ok-ish. MP3 player at the ready and off .... Into the unsuspecting neighbourhood. I enjoyed the messages and music and have absolutely no recollection of noticing any people - just the footpaths and park ahead. Have to confess that runs 5 & 6 were probably a little shorter than 60 seconds - I had no breath left .... But the moment I knew there were only two left to go, I found new energy :).
Now looking forward to shopping for newer/lighter trainers, and run 2 on Monday. So, no revelations or wit, just wanted to share that I'm on my way and thanks in advance for all you lovely C25K devotees and bloggers out there .... You are so inspirational. Cheers X

Awwww thanx everyone. You are so encouraging. Am still buzzing - even did the huge supermarket shop with a silly grin all the way. Will keep you posted. X (aka Linda)
Way to go Linda well done. You are the same age as I was when I took my first run, darn nearly killed me, I thought I was going to die. You seem to have taken it all in your stride (pardon the pun). Good luck for the coming runs, I wish you well.
That was me just a few weeks ago and I didn't manage runs 7 and 8. Now I'm on week five and yesterday did the two eight minute runs, tomorrow 20 minutes!
I'm 63 and haven't run since school but these podcasts are fantastic.
