28 minutes around the lovely lake (TWICE!) in Finland again this morning at 6:15am. Almost managed 5k (what's 300m between friends) in that time.. I can't believe there's only 5 runs left until I graduate and probably the most unbelievable thing is that it's ME that ran 28 minutes non-stop (after the last 4 runs being 25 mins non-stop)... I never did sports in school, struggled with asthma as a child and avoided ANY physical exercise most of my life....
Now I'm up at the crack of dawn every second day pounding the pavement and the parks and running for almost 5kms each time... it feels AMAZING to be this fit for the first time in my life (at almost 42) and to be doing something for myself... It's my "chill out" and "de-stress" time... me and the road...
After a visit to my GP last week (not running related) he did his normal blood pressure reading as mine has always been high For the first time in 15 years my blood pressure was "absolutely normal"....every step away from that couch has helped in so many ways!
Good luck to all of you - this programme is really working for me and I know it can work for anyone! Don't ever worry about pace, distance or any of that - just "moving" is amazing!
