Feeling really happy as I've just done week eight run 1, running for 28 massive minutes! Slightly concerned by how slow I am and how much further I have to go. Managed 3.5km in 28 minutes and I've signed myself up for a 10km race for life in a month.
Retaining optimism as I'm remembering the beginning of this when I struggled to get through the initial 1 minute rounds!
Advice and cheer most welcome!

I can't give any advice on speed -I'm also painfully slow! (Couldn't make it through the runs otherwise). But we'll done on your achievements so far and best of luck with the 10k!
That's ok that is. You've probably noticed its getting easier since you started so you'll probably naturally do the next run a little bit quicker and so on, so hitting 5k on week 9 no problem.
Agreed, I think I'll be more like 40 minutes for 5km which I'm D.E.L.I.G.H.T.E.D about, main thing is I'm not stopping and every minute I can go longer, slow or not slow is a massive improvement on what I was doing before
After lots of lovely reassurance from here, I am resigned to being slow. Let's worry about picking up speed (or just being less slow?!) once 5k is under out belts. Really REALLY genuinely remarkable to be able to run 28 minutes surely? Not everyone can do it, or they would be.
I'm with you there! Felt so elated after doing that, compared to a few weeks ago thinking I was going to collapse in a heap! Slow and steady gets the worm...
