Week 3 Run 2

Well not such a comfortable run today - I should have given myself three days rest not two, and I didn't stretch before running. I felt like my ankles and legs were really tense, I kept trying to relax during the running because they felt so tight. Trouble is I am loving this so much I am wanting to get on and do more - I am going to have to learn to be patient and give my legs time to recover!

  • Hi Lottidog - You did it, well done ! I did my Week 3 Run 2 today as well ! I normally do Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, but due to work commitments I am doing Tuesday , Thursday and Saturday this week. I know exactly how you feel, I am loving it too Hope your ankles and legs feel better soon :-) One more run and we are on Week 4. Yay, go us :-) xx

  • Good on you poppypug how was it? I am excited/scared about week 4, it seems quite a step up from Week 3. Will probably do my third run Sat or Sun to make sure that my knees are recovered, they are feeling pretty weird at the moment - will pop some Ibruprofen in a minute, that usually helps. I think I was going at it like a bull at a gate to day (silly), still thats how you learn I suppose. Feeling a lot thinner as well which is a major bonus!! Keep up the good work! xx

  • Well done on your second run of week 3. There is no need to worry about week 4 - it may seem a big step up but remember you have already done the preparation and trained up to it. Try to keep things slow and steady and make sure you get sufficient rest days - I know running becomes addictive but we must learn to be patient - miss a rest day and you set yourself up for injuries. Good luck with your next run and best wishes.
