Week 3, Run 1 & 2 !!!

Well my post didn't send after my week 3 run 1, so this is a combined 1 & 2!!!!! - so hope this sends !!!! Well I did both runs and both went brilliantly.

The longer run time was surely testing, and a few times my body was jogging forward and my legs wanted other ideas !!! but I managed to do it.

I finally bought some basic running clothes, a running top - Karrimore one which was cheap at £9 0r £10 and super lightweight and finally felt great and not like I have a soaking wet towel on my back when running in the heat recently.

Shorts I went with some sports ones with zipped pockets where I can keep my key and mobile phone, which eliminates need for a waste bag or phone holder and worked perfectly!!!

My legs were not as heavy as started from a little tip someone on here gave me to do some small jogging on the spot before I start the app, did this for 3-4 mins and really helped warm me up properly and no heavy legs!!

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying it. I surely am!!!!

Close fitting synthetics tend to be best for us sweaty blokes. 💦

All the gear and some idea now by the sound of it....part of evolving into a runner is to start looking like one, I speak from experience, having gone out early on week one and being mistaken for a potential burglar.....couch to 5 years (see my profile 😂) it helps your confidence too 🏃‍♂️👍

Glad it helped. I found it by accident and always now do it. Even if I just jog in the kitchen while I am doing a few jobs before I go out!!

Hi Adie - well done on making the decision to get out there and improve your fitness. If you’re struggling with heavy legs, are you drinking enough water? It’s surprising what a difference not being properly hydrated makes. Have you read Iannoda Truffe’s pinned post for newbies here on the forum - it’s essential reading and will really give you the info you need. Your brisk 5min warm up walk should be enough to get you ready to do your runs but if you check out the NHS website there are pre- and post-run stretches you can do. Enjoy your C25K!
