Well, it's getting exciting now. Having been laid up for a couple of days with a cold I decided to take one extra rest day and see how I felt this morning. Ah well, not rarin' to go exactly but certainly feeling up to giving the first run of Week 8 a try. I'm pleased I did because I have got this run under my belt and did feel that I could have gone a couple of extra minutes - which means I have something still in the tank. Ironically, after this run my nose and chest felt clear so it's blown some cobwebs away at any rate. Bring on run 2 on Thursday. Best wishes.
Week 8 Run 1 done - starting countdown now as ... - Couch to 5K
Week 8 Run 1 done - starting countdown now as only 5 more runs left.
Excellent! Well done!
Good to hear you're back on track! You've nearly made it, only a few more runs to go now. I hope the winds and rain forecast for tomorrow don't deter me from getting out for my w5r3. Best wishes
Best of luck for the next runs: you are nearly there x
Well done Fitmo! You are so going to graduate
I am so happy you are recovering from your cold and doing so well, Fitmo as you have been so encouraging to me and everyone on the plan. I am "cheering" you on as you approach your graduation And you are so close now! You must be really proud of your achievements to date.
All the best for week 8 xxx
Glad you are feeling better Fitmo, and well done with your run. Nearly there! x
You'll do it easy Fitmo! I just know it. I looked back at my log for week 8 and against each run I've drawn a smiley face, so if I can do it then I know you can
You're nearly there! The finish line is in your sights
Well done on getting out there when you've been poorly. You can do it, keep us up to date and you will soon have that graduation badge fitmo
Well done Fitmo - you are getting there. Good luck for rest of week 8.
Many thank you's for all your support and encouragement. I must admit that I resorted to an old remedy last night to try to shake off the last of the cold - a quarter teaspoonful of brandy in my Ovaltine at bedtime! Works a treat. I was pleased with my run this morning so am having a lovely day off tomorrow and visiting friends in Middlesex for the day, also taking their Easter presents so have been busy making chutney and doing a baked gammon ham for them.
Kickibro - with regard to your comment about my being encouraging to you and to others. Thank you for such a lovely compliment but in all honesty, I can't see the point in being less than encouraging. I've known so many times in the past what it's like to be on the receiving end of criticisms and put-downs (not least from teachers at school many years ago) and that kind of thing is so counter-productive. Encouragement and support is what helps people to achieve things and then the achievement boosts their self esteem and then they feel even more motivated - so it's like a roller coaster to success.
Well, I'm just about to take the four-legged hooligan out for his last walk and then it's time for bed. I sent hubby off to bed earlier with a dash of brandy in hot milk as he's got the cold now! Good luck to you all on your next runs and my very best wishes to you.
not long to go Fitmo! you can do it! well done on your progress and hope thurs goes well and your cold has disappeared by then
Great! I'm finding week eight pretty fine after week seven. Would help if I hadn't run out of phone credit thanks to too much internet on holiday, so having to run without Laura, and just a borrowed watch! Was nice and peaceful last night with just me, the dog, and a huge moon looking down on us, though.
A hot toddy Fitmo. That'll help anyone sleep well. Nearly there now. Enjoy your achievement.
Well done, Fitmo! Glad to hear the run cleared your head and that you felt able to continue....as you say, only 5 to go now!
We'll done. I was due to do that run today but after a 10 mile hike yesterday making my hip feel a bit tender have decided to wait until Thursday. Last two runs were much easier breathing wise so hope it will not be too bad running for an extra 3 mins.
Thank you. Hope your own run goes well. Cheers.
