Week 5 Run 1 - Done!

It was hot yesterday. I had to wait until just gone 8pm before it felt cool enough for me to go out to start week 5.

I've found that having my tea before I go running actually helps me with my energy levels so I've started going out a bit later in the evening after I've eaten and let it go down.

For the first time I wasn't worried about the run. Yes, it's a bit longer than the other ones I've done, but I feel ready to take on the challenge now.

If you had asked me 4 weeks ago if I thought I would be in this frame of mind, I would have laughed at you but I'm half way through the plan now and I'm determined to finish it.

Surprisingly as Laura was telling me each time that I only had 60 seconds left I wasn't begging to hear her voice telling me this nugget of information. I was enjoying the evening and my music and was just 'running'. I didn't get to the end of my last run with my lungs feeling they were going to burst out of my chest as they have previously, which means I'm either not pushing myself hard enough or I managed to find a pace that was comfortable. I'm going with the latter :)

The next couple of weeks are going to be a little bit different for me as I am living in another area for two weeks so will have to work out a route that suits me and the runs.

Week 5 Run 2 planned for Thursday.

Happy face ticked on the app at the end of the run.

Thanks! That's what I'm focussing on. Different scenery rather than longer runs 😊

Nice post.

It is a strange feeling when you get to that point of just enjoying running in the open air, when weeks ago you wouldn't have thought you'd enjoy it.

Absolutely. I found a rhythm and all of a sudden it wasn't hard work. I'm not sure I'll be saying the same thing after the next couple of runs though 😀😀
