Today was day one
Hello and CONGRATS. Believe it or not, you have already succeeded at the very hardest part - overcoming inertia, making your health and priority, and getting started, especially after 20 years. Way to go! (I hope you reward yourself with a pat on the back!)
Sure, you will face other challenges and milestones as you go, and we will be here to celebrate with and support you. Please keep us posted on your progress, and keep at it.
Fantastic.
I have never thought that running would be for me, but started a couple of weeks ago, after years of doing nothing.
Just completed my first run of week 3 and really enjoying it.
I hope you enjoy it too!
Woohoo and well done! I didn't start running until I was 63 and I hadn't run since hating it at school!
Hi and well done. That first step is the hardest one in the programme. Keep us all advised of your progress and you'll find all the support you need here.
yeah. you are now on the road to better health and fitness. best advice I can give is dont make it a burden keep it enjoyable
It was the same for me only a few weeks ago, 20 years at least! I think that the way that the podcasts are done and the gradual steps are so helpful to people like us...I would never have got through without them. You have made the biggest step forward by starting.. And you will feel so good and a bit smug each time you complete a run...lots of support on here too..have fun
Welcome and congratulations for getting started. It's been a life changer for many of us who have come to running late in life.
Congratulations!
Well done on getting started. Enjoy your runs. Good luck and best wishes.
Well done, this morning was week 1 run 2 for me.
I did c25k last year and then completely lost my mojo.
Shin splints last week wasn't good but new trainers and I am raring to go again. The hardest part is over...going out for the first time. Well done again
Race you
Good for you.....there's no better feeling! You've done a brilliant thing and can feel very proud of yourself!

Today was Day 2 Week 1 - I still found it hard but a little easier than day 1 - my biggest problem is that I have a severe pain in the back of one of my calves - any suggestions to ease this
