Week 9 Run 3 all done, thank you Couch to 5k!

For the first time ever I have achieved my New Years Resolution, to complete the C25K programme and what'd ya know, only gone and done it! To top it off, I am now running a full 5k two/three times a week although struggling to get near the 30min mark, today was my best time of 32:57 but baby steps and all that. I've been using Endomondo and it's so so satisfying to see my average speed creeping up and distance getting longer. I am just ecstatic with it all!!

I was the heaviest I've ever been at Christmas but have lost a stone without any dieting, I am fitter and now have a great way to relieve the stress my job inflicts on me, my kids are inspired and my 8yo wants to run with me so might get him to follow the programme too. I have far more faith in my body, I never believed back at W1R1that I would be able to run for 30 mins, I have learnt to love my body and appreciate every step it takes, I can look at myself in the mirror and think "yes, what a great body you are", not for the way I look but because I've risen to the challenge and can now do something I have never been able to do before.

I haven't been able to post on here as much as I'd like but to everyone starting out, well done for taking the first step, keep with it because this is THE best feeling ever! And respect to all the other graduates, we rock!! Thanks NHS and thanks Laura!!

Now, can I have badge please?!

CONGRATULATIONS ON GRADUATING! It's a great programme isn't it? I would have done this years ago had I known about it.

Do not worry about the 30 minutes, I doubt if many achieve it before graduation - many of us still haven't! 32.57 is a fantastic time! Well done and long may you continue!

I was gonna say "where's ya badge?" You have to apply for it by following the link to the right hand side of the screen, words in bold blue type.

Well done! You're a star you are. Keep running, and if you can get the kids interested then that's all to the good

What a fab post. Yeah I loved the programme and there were times (still are) when I can feel a bit low or frustrated because I feel I'm a bit slow like a plodder but hey I'm doing it! We're doing it! I can say it's changed me and help for me to feel better about myself. I'm not completely where I want to be but I know 5this will certainly help me. Congratulations and happy running! :-)
