Thank you. Week 9 run 3 done

My journey started on 6th March on a treadmill at the gym where like many I struggled to run for 1 minute and couldn't see how I would get to Week 2 let alone the end. Around Week 5, after reading so many positive posts I transitioned outside leaving the treadmill behind. It was tough - I found it much harder - so much to consider even simple things like tying hair back so I could see - there was weather, dogs, cars, hills (well slopes really 😊). But I persevered, going back a couple of weeks and repeating until I was comfortable. Today I did it week 9 run 3 and wanted to share particularly with those who are just starting you can do this - believe and stick with it - I am fitter, feel better and really wish i hadn't left it until I was 51 to try this. I love being outside on my early run - I call to the chickens, talk to the rabbits (not sure they listen). I love the weather and am even learning to love 'hills' All of this is thanks to the program and all of the inspirational posts here. Thank you xxx

I feel the same way and at 2 yrs your senior am starting to realise what I've been missing. I feel so inspired by people's stories and I can't wait to reach Week 9 next month!

Hi Deslys4444 I think you are right it is suddenly realising that running is not for the 'others' but for us too. Good luck - you will graduate next month. As OldFloss says 'slow and steady'. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done! Enjoy that feeling of euphoria !

And yes .. I chatted ( well through puffed breath) to hens rabbits birds sheep and so on during couch to 5k. In one run I remember a group of young bullocks ran along me in their field parallel to the road. I decided they were encouraging me but was grateful for the feNce between us..

Welcome to the graduate gang. The badge suits you!

The McGurran's en masse are on their feet giving you a round of applause!!!!! Very well done. I remember struggling badly on week 1 but am now approaching 2 years since my first Parkrun, have completed several 10k runs and a half marathon and have signed up for my first marathon! All that from having to pause the app because I couldn't run for a full minute! Heartiest congratulations!
