So decided that today was the day for the final run . Did the run with Laura who has been with me throughout (thank you) and then kept running until I completed the 5K ( very slowly) in 51 mins.
Reflecting on how far I have come with C25K , you have been with me through the first year of retirement, ferocious depression, the death of my mother, having Covid twice, moving house and some fairly painful counseling sessions.
Where to next? Well you are part of my life now. I would like to get a bit faster and will sign up for the local Park Run when it is too cold to swim in the sea. I will also now be able to do a 5K charity run in honour of my son's lovely friend who killed herself. And the bridging to 10 K programme looks interesting .
So thanks for absolutely all you have given me and all I have learnt.

Just wow! Consolidate for a few weeks and don't be tempted to run for too long, our older bones etc need that adjustment time. There is a graduates post where you can share your experiences.
🍏🏃♀️👏🎶🤩🥳Congratulations!! Here are 2 links to help you with the what next. What a journey to get here! You have been through much but have overcome & put your heart & soul into running! An amazing day for you. X
Go YOU ! Huge well done. You have gone through the mill and are here.. on the other side, stronger and more determined.... get across to the new Graduates' Club and introduce yourself...!
many, many of us can empathies with your mental health struggles, I myself, going through the mill a bit right now following my husband's heart attack...
This forum is incredible...the support here is parallel to none... it is as Coach Bennett of the NIke Running club would say, " All about running and absolutely not about running "!
Thank you so much for your lovely, lovely comments and for your kindness in finding the time to reply when you are going through it yourself. Wishing you calmer days ahead and cool, empty paths to run on . Take care
Congratulations runner! Well done on completing the programme, and on getting through some extremely difficult times. I'm glad to hear you're receiving counselling, it's often very hard but is useful. Running can be an important part of your recovery and future maintenance, please just be careful and mindful that it never becomes self punishment. I've been there and it's really not good.
I wish you many happy smiles over, many miles. 😊 always remember; not every run can be a good one, but there's something good in every run!
