Finished last week and have had two consolidation runs this week. I'm a slow runner, I think, and don't know my pace. Are there any other slow runners out there who have attempted a 5K? I'm just wondering how long it took you? I'm doing 33 minutes atm.
I think I've got the mileage in me to go a bit further, but just wanted an estimate...
Thanks!

33 minutes for a 5K isn't all that slow dr212, I suppose it's slow compared to running 5K sub 15 minutes but there aren't many if any runners on this forum who can run a sub 15 minute 5k
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 9 and graduating from C25K last week, keep doing a few more 30 minute consolidation runs before you think of increasing your distance, perhaps to 10K.
When I first read your post drl212 I thought you meant you'd run 5k in 33 minutes. On re-reading I then understood it as you're currently doing 33 minutes without tracking your distance, but you'd like to run 5k at some point. So now I'm confused !
If it's the former, then many people on here would be delighted to run 5k in 33 minutes and wouldn't remotely consider that "slow."
If it's the latter, what I'd suggest is that you focus on building running time rather than deciding you have to do 5K. Maybe look at the timed version of the Magic Plan on Bridge to see how you could do that.
You'll also need to track your distance. If you don't have a running watch yet, the free version of an app such as Strava should be fine.
You're welcome re Strava ! Had to go out earlier so my earlier reply wasn't quite finished.
Wanted to add that I suggested increasing time rather than trying for 5k right away because if you track your run and discover you're some way short, you might end up adding on quite a chunk of time.
Fwiw I didn't start tracking my runs until sometime after I'd finished C25K, and nearly four years on I still don't trrack everything.
And some of the time-based runs have data commentary too, and will update you as to pace and distance as you're running. Suits me as I don't have any other trackers
Along with everyone else I'd advise increasing the length of your runs very gradually and cautiously. The last thing you want is an injury when you've got this far.
I'm not sure what 5km plans you have, but Parkrun would be a good option. It's a carefully measured 5km course and there's no problem walking it or run / walking it to get a feel for the distance. Also, if you 're not satisfied with the run or walk, its always there next week for another go!
I've started doing timed 5k races. I wanted a new challenge, a change of scene, and something to aim for.
These are chip timed, so I get a really accurate reading and can tell you that my last 5k was exactly 47 minutes, which was an increase of 50 seconds on the one before... different route of course!
As it took me a year before I could run for longer than a few minutes, I'm really happy to have finished a whole 5k! I'm one of the slower runners, and it's unlikely my time will become much faster.
Thanks so much! Yes, it looks like I'm coming in at a 15 min mile so will be similar to you. I'm just in second week of consolidating now. My last long run was 35 min which got me to 2.3 mile. I'm looking for June to get up to 5K after another two weeks of consolidating.
