Well I'm still alive! To be honest, it was easier than I thought it was going to be. I seem to have my breathing sorted a bit better now (perhaps because my cold has finally gone and I can breathe through my nose properly)
I'm even thinking about signing up for a 5k run in the summer somewhere ... Did I really say that?!? Must be mad!

Well done on starting week 3. It's amazing how this programme progresses bit by bit and we find we progress with it. Enjoy the next 2 runs. Best wishes.
You're so right. Last week when I realised that this week would be a step up to a 3 minute run, I was dreading it. But tbh 3 minutes isn't THAT long really is it!?? And yes, if you've completed the first 2 weeks, it feels a natural progression to want to run for longer. I'm itching to be ABLE to run for say 20 minutes, but I'm happy to go along with Laura and not lose faith in my ability.
Slowly does it. I have a few friends who run between 7k and 10k so I'm feeling a bit inadequate BUT this system seems to work for me, so I'm going to stick at it.
It's quite an eye opener. There must be so much in life that we could do if we put our minds on it. Ok, running for 3 minutes isn't exactly earth shattering, but I would have struggled 3 weeks ago, so we should be pleased with ourselves. Well done on your run and good luck for run number 2 - which doesn't seem daunting anymore!
Yes, a positive attitude does help and one cannot fail to feel more positive as one progresses on the c25k program. I am looking forward to my next run on Wednesday and wish it were tomorrow! I find that quite amazing too! I want to run and I want to progress to 5k then 10k and then who knows, but what I do know is that I want to maintain a fit and healthy body and attitude throughout the rest of my life. It's a long term thing.
Hi, I'm needing abit of motivation. Week 3 run 1 done this morning. I found it quite tough & my legs are very sore now. I think I'm running abit fast. Ouch!
Hi Blondibird - sorry to hear your legs are a bit ouchy! I found that bit of advice that Laura gave us on today's (ie week 3 run1) about imagining someone the other side of the hedge from you not knowing if you were running or walking quite helpful ie not being so enthusiastic that your head bobs up and down!
How have you found the running up until today?
I don't know about anyone else, but I can certainly feel it in my legs when I am running - all those muscles groaning and shouting at me cos all they want to do is sit around!
Maybe try running a bit slower on run 2?
Where do you run?
Good luck - you've done really well to get this far, keep it up!
Well done! Sound like you're doing really well, definitely sign up for that 5 k run! or try a 5k parkrun? they are good fun i've just done my 3rd................
