I completed r1 wk 3 last night - oh my goodness. How long were those three minute runs??? Well obviously three minutes but it might as well have been 30! Wasn't helped by my husband kindly offering to come with me as it was getting dark then bouncing off into the distance grrrrrr!! But with much panting, gasping & exclaiming I did it - but - I finished only two thirds of the way round the circuit from last week - is that right? I felt a bit disappointed - it seemed to be a very short overall session (but with very long runs!π³). I'm not sure if I messed up or this was how it was supposed to be? I guess there was less walking?
Back to morning run ππ» tomorrow- lets hope session 2 is easier??? (Not sure who I am trying to kid here - but positive thoughts π. ........

The runs are longer but there are less of them so not much more run than the week before. It starts gradually and then starts to ramp up in a week or two. Don't worry about how far you run. So long as you run the right number of minutes you are doing great.
Apart from right now (W9) I think I found those three minute runs the hardest of all the weeks. Stick at it - and forget about the distance. If you're listening to the app (I listen to Michael Johnson) then you know you're running at the right times and the right number of times so forget about the distance for now - and, in fact, forget about the distance until you graduate. What's most important is the duration of your runs. Keep at it - somehow it does get easier - or at least more rewarding - as the duration creeps up but I'm in my last week (and have been for about ten days now ) and still nowhere near 5k!!!!
Thank you for your support. Jo Whiley is keeping me company and keeping me motivated- I don't normally do any sort of social media - but the community is really motivating & so supportive.
Yes it's definitely getting harder but well done for completing it. Ignore your husband, you'll be sailing past him in no time :). I'm awaiting my new trainers which I am hoping have magical running powers ;). See you at the end of week 3
Haha - I often do that!! Bless him - he was trying to be supportive- he's just much better at running than me.........at the moment- ha! If you find trainers with magical powers let me know! Good luck with your runs - look forward to celebrating with you at the end of week. πΎπ΅
Thank you for sharing - it's good to know that we are all in the same boat here. We can do this........ππ΅
We're at about the same stage and it's really weird, I was upset too that my distance wasn't so great, and then I gave myself a big kick. Who are you kidding girl - 14 days ago you couldn't run for 60 seconds, now you run for 3 minutes in one go and you're upset. Get a grip!!! Really you're doing great, focus on your achievements and leave those nasty negative niggles behind you...
