Went out and did speed.. early at 5.30 With Laura. It was hard. Felt good feeling my power, but it made me realise I have a long way to go too to get faster.....
However what it did do is fuel me up with endorphins for the day, it helped me to remember that I am alive... That means living. I didn't used to feel alive, I felt numb. When I hit 40 and I had my mid life crisis, I decided I wanted to find her again and live. Not an easy decision, but I am so I'm glad I did.
Parkrun tomorrow and then a Long run on Sunday.
I'm so incredibly lucky to have 2 legs that can run and push myself just a bit more each time.
I found my panther too and I'm
Panthering along.
Thankyou everyone for helping me on this amazing journey.. It's been the best....

Good for you, I knew you would get there. I have found my feet again this week. I am back building up my continuos runs and it feels good. The days I run I get so much more done and feel so much better about everything. I understand that attitude and it is the height of living at its best. You put it so well. May the panther in you run and run.
That's my normal time for running . I love it not mouth people around as you see the morning come alive with some waiting in the bus or walking to the train station...I do love my early morning runs. Also how often you do the speed run ...I would like to work on my speed
you know, I love that time, and in the summer I was always out doing my preferred 10k route, but I can't at this time of year for fear of being attacked as its in the middle of nowhere!!! I have only done the one, but I am planning on 'speed week' next week, posssibly do it every day as part of my HM training???
Hello Raven lots of 4's...well done you are doing well... I lost the weight using myfitnesspal it really works... And so glad you are getting the endorphins going too...!!!
Thanks... I'm going to keep pushing and doing it to try and get faster... But I was a zombie at that time, I wasn't entirely sure if I was awake or just dreaming!!!
Dear Panther,
Your latest post is fabulous and really hits the mark. I really admire you for using a difficult time in your life to do something great, and for focusing so hard on continuing to improve your running. You are so right about feeling lucky to have two legs, and reading your post has made me remember how lucky I am for that, too. It's very easy to forget all the things we have and should be grateful for.
Your post really made me stop and think, and it's made me get into a really positive frame of mind. So, thank you... Wise words from a very wise panther. X
Darling Mermaid, you are also very wise too and I am so glad its cheered you up. I am so excited for our panthery park run next sat, and then an afternoon with Belle...the ultimate panther don't you think? don't forget to bring your running lipstick love from Panther Ju Ju X
What a great post. It's so good you are finding yourself again in running - you are doing amazing stuff there and are an inspiration. Keep on panthering.
Nice one juju. Am impressed with the 5.30am start as well! I knew you'd get back to it so bloomin well done. Look after those long slender legs, for they shall bring you 'appiness!
Thanks DTG...Panther is full on now, parkrun today and a big one tomorrrow so the legs are really gonna get it!!!
It is amazing how much a difference running can make to your life. It's more than just the physical it's the mental rush too....
I know I've lapsed a bit over the winter, but am going to get the trainers on and get back out there tomorrow. No target or distance, just get out soak up the good feelings again.
Brilliant tags yet again, your midlife crisis starts tomorrow with the assistance of speed!
You need to find your panther and get out there tomorrow...OK?...you are so right about the mental rush, get out there, no expectations or targets, just running to get that fix, find the fun again, and find YOU...and oh dear, I do not want that mid life crisis again tomorrow, or ever, 3 years was enough!!! Happy panthering.
It was good, the pic is from last weekend, it just conjurs up the mood....I love the feeling of power and control over my body...and yes it was early, I wasn't quite with it!!!
thanks, JuicyJu! I am coming off antidepressants so definitely need the endorphins! I did the second run of week 3 yesterday - much easier than the first. I am at a pivotal point in my life too. Have been on meds for 21 years, now coming off, hopefully completely. Thank God for running- it is keeping me sane!
