I am SO proud of myself, week 5 done and dusted! I was worried and excited about the third run, but I got through it, and when Laura said I was done - I could have kept going through sheer joy!
I never would have dreamed 5 weeks ago that I would be running for 20 minutes, and enjoying it!
Bring on week 6!

Good luck tomorrow. The thing I found really helped me was 'staying in the moment' as I would on a walk. Enjoying what I see and not thinking about 5 minutes time. Let us know how it goes!
Well done...that's such good news. And I did it too! I was thinking that you and Deb54 would also going to be running today and that helped. Can't believe it either. I even sped up for the last 30 seconds!
I was out at 7.30 and it's such a beautiful morning here in Edinburgh I think that might have helped too. I am definitely better in the mornings. Will be going for week 6 run 1 on Friday. What about you?
Well done., I had to run in the evening because I had to be in work early. And found out that I could! W6R1 is Friday morning. It will be easy after today - but it may be raining...
Well done to all of you. It is such a lovely feeling to get that one under your belt. It took me four extra weeks to get there but I did last week. Good luck for week six to you all.
Isn't it amazing! Week 5 was a real watershed moment for me - never in a million years did I think I'd be able to run for twenty minutes - but I did, and now I'm at week 8 and running 28 minutes! Week 5 made me realise that my body could actually do it, it was only my brain that kept saying I couldn't! So, my advice from what I've experienced is keep it slow and steady, and be stubborn! Don't listen to the negative comments inside your head, trust in your fabulous body! It's just ran for 20 minutes!! Woo hoo!!
I'm shocked at myself that I did it - honestly, if I can after not running since school, and believe me I didn't run there if I could help it, anyone can!
