Week 9 complete!!! Not sure I would finish this week after getting some back pain last week, but tried run 2 after 5 days rest and managed it (though it was a toughy!)! Did my final run this afternoon - another one harder than w9r1 but was definitely NOT going to stop!!!

Thank you to everyone on here for sharing their experiences and commenting on mine, I couldn't have done it without you. Now just got to keep up the motivation - considering treating myself to a garmin so I can't give up due to the cost!

Well done you. I had hoped that would be me tonight posting that i had done run3 of week9, but i had such a horrendous day at work to day that i am shattered, got home an hour later than i should have to top it all off!!!! So i am going to bed early tonight and gonna get up refreshed tomorrow and go out first thing before i do anything else. Look out for my post tomorrow saying i have completed week 9. Am doing a 5k fun-run in May with some work colleagues so need to keep with the running so i don't let them down!!!

Hi amberduck, did my last week9 run this morning, got up straight into running gear and out. I had to stop for a few seconds after a long incline to catch my breath but other than that it was all good. According to my pedometer i covered 3.46km, not the best run in terms of distance but i took Laura's advise and went slow and steady just to see if i could run outside for 30mins, now i know i can. Hooray!!!!!!!

Well done, amberduck and congratulations. Your hard work and determination has paid off. This running is probably one of the most positive things we can do for a healthy body and mind eh? I recently downloaded the Endomondo app for android. It looks like it will be useful to me after my own graduation. It allows you to set goals and the lady tells you when you have got to 1k, then 2k, etc., and lets you know your average time. It's free too, which is even better!

Carerof, I do wish you well tomorrow and look forward to reading your post and congratulating you on your achievement.

Happy running peeps xxx

PS. Ah, just seen you want to purchase a Garmin for motivational purposes :D I buy clothes :D

Well done on your graduation - better late than never but sorry it was delayed due to back pain. I hope that gets sorted so you can embark on the next stage of your running journey. For the moment - enjoy your success. Best wishes.

Well my husband bought me the Forerunner 10, it is an entry level one I think, but it does what I need at the moment. I can measure time, speed/pace, lap times, km/mile times, and when you plug it in to your computer you get all these lovely statistics to look at if you want them, with your PB's etc. It beeps at me from time to time, on a km lap for instance. I am just getting used to it at the moment. I would have a look on the internet at the blurb on them and see which gives you what you need. Some people like one that you can use a heart monitor with. They seem to hold their price pretty well if you ever want to sell it ( shock, gasp in horror I'm sure you wouldn't! , well unless its for an upgrade of course) Happy choosing! x

So pleased for you....I'm hoping to get this feeling in the next few weeks ( currently on WK 8 ) ...as others say, it's definitely time for a treat! If not a Garmin, how about a Couch25K graduate t-shirt? Or BOTH??

Well done! It's good to know you managed it with a five day rest. I'm about to do run 3 but have rested 3 days already and will probably do it tomorrow or in the week. I've had a stomach bug and not felt up to it. Can't wait to say I've done it too :)
