Sunday running.

Running just gets all my senses going. To feel the hot air, and the cool breeze on my skin. To feel the tingling in my fingers and toes. To hear my heart beating and feel my lungs breathe. To smell the grass and the honeysuckle in the hedgerow. To feel the soft earth under my feet. To hear the insects humming in the meadow and the birds fluttering in the hedges. To hear the stream trickling and watch the sky changing, clouds moving, sun hiding. To hear the rustling of the leaves on the trees and the woodsmen chain-sawing in the distance. To hear the chirpy "hello" and "good morning" from the passing cyclists. To reach home and walk up the garden, aware of the incredible colours of all the flowers. To taste the fresh, cold water and the salt on my lips. To feel totally content, happy and alive.

You enjoy it a bit then? Completely agree, but couldn't put it quite so lyrically.

Lovely ! My 10 miles this morning weren't quite as uplifting as that but felt like a job well done. :-)

10 miles! ;) A huge job well done! Mine was only half that, but I loved it :)

Aah...that's lovely .If reading that doesn't make us all want to get out there right now, then nothing would !

Reading blogs on here always helps me to get out of the door. Glad you like mine :)

Thanks TJ, did me good to read that because it's all so true... I came home from my Sunday morning run today and wrote a blog 'Black thoughts' so I really needed to hear this!

You keep on happy running :-)

No more black thoughts now!! Honestly though, it doesn't really matter where you run as long as you enjoy it :)

Thanks Delia! I haven't posted for a while, but the words flowed out easily today :)

All the way through reading your lovely blog, I was thinking she enjoyed her run this morning :-)

Ha, ha!! It set me up for the day Phil :) Funnily enough though, I firstly struggled to get out of the door and then started out rather plodding and heavy footed. Strange how a run can turn around like that.

We should all print your post out TJFlute and stick on strategic places around the house. How can anyone not get up and go with your positive message? Actually, me today! I'm on a rest day and had a few glasses of wine last night as well so never run when I'm slightly dehydrated. But, come tomorrow, there'll be no stopping me!

Beautifully put and just how I feel - so lucky to have such stunning countryside as our outdoor gym :)

It's easy to forget but the changing seasons always bring new and exciting things to a route, I never tire of it.

Well done TJ you know how to get others motivated, I want to get back out there now but already ran this morning. By the way where did you get that lovely cool breeze from!?! ;)

TJFlute profile image
TJFlute in reply to Oldgirl

Thanks Oldgirl :) There wasn't much of a cool breeze, but enough to really appreciate it when I felt one! It's actually been fairly breezy here today but still hot.

Beautiful Theresa! Doesn't quite sum up my run this morning which I found tough - first 10k for a while - but still glad to be out there running! Glad to see you blogging or should I say posting now, I must get back into it too...

Thanks Sue! I haven't done 10k for a while either, usually 6 or 7k, I must up my distance again!

Lovely blog. Really made me feel like I was out in the countryside.

Haven't done a Sunday run for a while. My exercise today was some heavy duty gardening!

TJFlute in reply to wilmacgh

Oh yes, heavy duty gardening is my usual daily activity at the moment. Lots of bindweed :(
