B210K Week5 Run 1 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Garmin has collapsed in the heat. I have no proof of my valiant run in the sweltering heat. Serves me right for accepting "pink and shrink" culture and getting a Garmin 10 -- should have gone for a big black triple figure style instead. Grrrre.

Oh, that must be so very annoying! Still, the important bit is that you did it. Well done. :)

Btw I think I need to apologize for not resonding to you guys, but this new site sucks slightly. You really need to look for things.

Bit of a theme here. MapMyRun died on me today and I've had to spend most of the morning switching to Endomondo

I was going to say "stay cool, no worries", then realised that with current heat that might be inappropriate! But you know what I mean!

Ned, if I may, you have no idea how awful it is here. And I cannot go anywhere cos of my Dad. Daughter number 2 is going to the UK in a couple of days to watch Arsenal-Napoli while me and the other 2 and mother-in-law will continue to melt. Hubby is in the UK. Double ggrrrrrr.

Of course you may, I was only trying [clumsily!] to be light-hearted. 40 & rising sounds awful. I don't normally acknowledge the concept of "too hot" but that's definitely too hot, and especially for running.

It was 37/38C here for a few days and pretty unbearable (one moves around the terraces searching for the faintest of breezes, and what was a 'lovely sun-trap' in the spring is now hot enough to fry eggs on the paving stones).

Even setting off for a run really early doesn't sufficiently counteract the effects of the heat as I find that I am regressing in speed and distance (not helped by the fact that the number of runners has increased in proportion to the tourist influx with many appearing to be 4 minute milers or better! Very sporty area around here.).

I am upping my training schedule and have taken in 6 cases of Rosé as a start. ;-)

Hi there Landesman. Bottles of rosé sound like an excellent start. I actually sweat in a strange way -- as in buckets. Sorry about that but I don't just perspire when I run and I certainly don't glow either! Bfn
