Wow!! I have been building this one up in my head and panicking. I did all my stretches, sprayed my hay fever spray, and inhaler, and off I went.
And I’m pleased to say it wasn’t as bad as I expected.
I started with my normal route, and roughly worked out where I’d be by the time I’d run about 8 mins and then I just listened to my mp3 and plodded along. I tried to keep my pace down as I didn’t want a repeat of run 1 where I started too fast and struggled to keep going, but it wasn’t too bad overall. I was about right in my estimate and when I glanced at my Garmin I had 35 seconds to go. So that was good. The recovery time was about right and off I went again, about a minute before I got to the park.
Usually I run past the park on my run but today I went in and did two laps which meant I finished my 2nd run just as I got to the entrance again and then could do my cool down walk without having to stop for crossings etc.
When I got home and uploaded my run I found I’d got a PB for the segment on my first run, even though I’d been trying to slow down.
So I’m TRYING to look forward to Week5 run 3. And not build it up too much
