Drove Becky (middle daughter) to the station at 6.45 as she had to sit a law exam in Bologna this morning. Parked the car and ran to the park. It had thundered last night and it was cool and sunny so I stupidly wore my running jacket -- so as not to get my hair wet, ladies will understand that. 3 minutes into the run I was sweating buckets as a glorious day broke. (It is currently 25°. ) So I had to go through the annoying process of tying the damn thing around my waist -- how uncomfortable. Anyway, I was overtaken by a very old gentleman and ran my slowest ever, but, once more, I did it. So stamina wise I am doing fine. Less so speed wise. But it does feel so good to face the day ahead after a run. Self-righteous, smug and above all happy!

Hello Delia,
Sounds like you've had a better day today Hope that bug has gone away (substitute less polite terms if you wish there).
I had intended to try 3 runs this week (work, moving etc have had me down at 2) but it didn't work out and I went for a swim instead. Still quite therapeutic.
Hope your daughter's exam went well

It was cool and sunny so you wore your running jacket - so as not to get your hair wet? Hmm, interesting, I have to admit I'm struggling with that one.
Good progress with Samantha by the sound of it. And yes, I know that feeling - especially if I'm back before the rest of the household is up.
I think stamina is the key. As that builds, so does the speed. And 25 deg sounds just perfect. That would be a really hot day here in Bonnie (but not too warm) Scotland!
And who knows - maybe that old man was Roger Bannister. (not sure if he's still alive though... )
He is still alive, or at least was last christmas when he switched the oxford lights on!
... or maybe he was a hologram. Just think - how much could you make by developing a way to have holograms of famous people? Churchill launching a new Channel Ferry?
And of course you could let people cheat their way through C25K - get a hologram of themselves to do their running!
Glad you are feeling happy Delia. I have been thinking of you. Run sounds good too. You're storming through B210k!
Ooh, I don't like things flapping round my waist either...... glad you got out for your run though, it's such good therapy isn't it? I have a lot going on at the moment and am making sure I get out after work to run and de-stress....works wonders!!
You are doing so well Delia; very proud of you
Thinking of you....

I understand about the hair! - and the jacket. Often end up sweating away in mine because it's got a pocket and the alternative is jacket flapping around the legs, tissue under bra strap and having to hold the phone in hot sweaty hands. In future will only buy running gear with pockets. Keep up the good work.
Glad you had a good run, but I think at 25 degrees I might be wishing for it to rain to cool me down.
Well done Delia. 25degrees sounds rather hot to be running! Look forward to joining you soon, though I won't be running in that heat!
Well done Delia. You are absolutely right about the stamina. Endurance has got to come first: speed will come later. I am also not sure about the running jacket or the hair! 25°C is warm enough for running. I hope to see how 22°C feels later for my tempo run this week. Keep up the good work. Enjoy B210k and Happy Running.
