Last August I was doing Week 4 of C25K in Berlin and remember well how hard it was. Who would have thought that less than a year on I would be running for almost an hour and doing almost 7K basked in the morning sunshine running along the river Inn surrounded by the snowy Alps. Bliss!
Better go and prepare my lecture now!

Sounds wonderful. Just enjoyed a few days in Florence - no running, alas, but mile upon mile of walking in crowds between galleries and churches on ancient stony roads, amazingly historical sights and bright sunshine ... but hips and knees now sore! Back in Blighty now with rain, part-time job, suddenly very green, bushy gardens, and my usual running routes. Will get out for some gentle 5k 'revision' later today. Enjoy yourself x
Sounds lovely! Just about to go out for a gentle jog myself, as recovering from a cold. But no sun this morning, just wind and cold! Will hopefully get back to the B210k programme next week...
Come on...we can always organize a run somewhere central. Now that would be fun. Hard to organize, but fun! Plus I wouldn't put it past any of us to do something that crazy!
You can thank me later for the weather, Sue. We wanted to share! Try to use the theory of you are resistance training while running/walking in the wind.
Sounds like such a beautiful, scenic view while running. The complete opposite of our plains here in Kansas USA. Can you believe the difference a year makes? Happy the 10K training is going well!!!! Gayle
Going green with envy - Innsbruck is a wonderful place, and to be running along the river with a view of the majestic alps! Well, I will do it one day! I have just now completed the Couch to 5K and I hope to increase it to 10k someday. How do you find B210K? I looked at the schedule, I somehow felt uncomfortable going back to interval running
I am looking at trying B210K but was a bit disheartened when I looked at the length of the podcasts. Once again it seems to be focusing on that magic time of 30 mins per 5k. My longest run to date has been 53 mins and that was only 6k. So I am almost at the stage where I can run for an hour. Makes me wonder if there is any point doing B210K
Well, it's pretty grim here in Innsbruck this morning and heavy rain is due in northern Italy today, so looks like I'm joining the rubbish weather club
Good on you Delia, still keeping up with the commitment to B210K. I am enjoying it too but not doing long runs more than twice a week and then a short run. I managed 58 mins non stop running on Wednesday, but nowhere near 10k.
Looking forward to my shorter run tomorrow with Murphy the dog.
Morning Burst (if I may) I only do one B201K run per week now, I do a 30/35 minute run and then an even shorter one (either speed or a 20 minute audiofuel with different beats). It seems to be working, I do run further each time, but am nowhere near 5k in 30 minutes , let alone 10K in an hour! Having said that, I shall do B210K Week 4 Run 1 on Monday. Who cares! Just remember where we were last year and that alone gives me a great sense of achievement. Say hallo to Murphy for me xox delia
Hi Delia, sounds totally gorgeous! I'm doing the same sort of programme as you, and at the same stage, just about to move onto B210kW4. Trouble is, there are just soooo many hills round here so you have to plan it so that you don't ave a whopping great mountain when you're starting to flag. My pal Penny is "encouraging" me to do a 10k in September - though I feel a run is more apt for me than a race - I'd be pleased just to finish!
Hope you feel the run should be rewarded with some scrumptious Austrian Kaffee und Kuchen!
PS was thinking of you yesterday when I bought a whole load of Marseilles vegetal soaps in TKMaxx...
Hi Delia what a journey you have had over the last year . Your run sounds idyllic , we are off to Heacham Beach on Monday hope to run along beach or promenade . How yours 50x50 going Pat.
