Will I ever learn my way around?

Nice 1k warm up and on the seafront, took a few photos, ran gently to the end of the prom and turned left heading to the chemists as I had a prescription to collect, popped in there, no queue and back out quickly.....I knew......I was sure I knew....crossed the road, over the bridge, um.....where is the track that's just over a kilometre to home? Some big posh houses, I ran around a bit but these houses don't have alleyways that lead to my track....they have dead ends! So, back over the bridge went I, and I'm still a stones throw from the beach but I was determined to run along the track that led to an alleyway that came out by home.

Oh dear... But look there's a main road up ahead, I saw a car, so after a little walk break I ran on....hmmm I didn't recognise the road but turned left which in my mind if I didn't find the other bridge at least I'd find the seafront.....no.....how strange, I could see a church tower.....I know that tower, it's mile's from where I thought I was so I turned round and ran like mad!!!

I came out at a familiar roundabout and ran/walked home getting to 5k as I arrived near home, stopped the watch and went inside .

That was a great run, I really enjoyed myself, including the warm up I went just over 6k, the 5k took 57 minutes, so slow still but mostly running, not puffed out but a bit achy by the end .

I looked on the map and still can't work out where I went wrong or how I ended up almost in GT Yarmouth but it was a run and I loved it.

Run happy or rest well xx

The unexpected runs are sometimes the best - you had an adventure and did 6k. Fantastic!! 🤗🏃‍♀️

It was great, but will be better when it warms up a bit

Funnily enough, today was the first day I took off my hat and gloves mid-run! So it's definitely getter warmer. But I do prefer the cold so..... 🤷‍♀️. But your patch of sea does look BITTER🥶!!

Quite an adventure Sue but you must be pleased with the amount of running you got in! And I’m sure before long you’ll have all the lanes and alley ways down pat!

Thank you, I'm not sure I'll ever work out how I got completely in a place I didn't expect to be, it doesn't really make sense, but I do recognise landmarks, like one of the many churches and roundabouts, I live 10 minutes from the hospital so if I see a sign for that I know I'll get home

Getting lost (and then finding your way again) is a great method to learn your way around 😁Great run!

I went to Colne a couple years ago, the gills to run up and down nearly broke my legs, it's raining here today but often drier on the east coast

Sounds like an adventure for you SAR and a really good run too. I’m sure you’ll find your way round eventually but take care.

Love this Sue. I could get lost getting out of a paper bag! But what an adventure you had and benefited from a longer run. It’s good to get out there. Xx

I'm enjoying being able to walk and run, getting lost doesn't bother me as I have my phone so could look at maps, Google maps would take me home. It's good feeling stronger xx
