A little further today

I’ve finally got my bosses boss to agree that I can go back to work, he’s agreed half days, funny man. Not sure how soon but hopefully this week. So better make the most of being home.

Today was Willows choice….. I’ve had my 2 runs along the seafront so I’m happy wherever we go. To the river!!!!!

The little inlet means we cross a little bridge, saw a white crested egret. Very special.

Warm up walk, ran gently for a kilometre, Willow jeffing so we kept passing each other, it’s warm and the sun is beating down on us but a cool breeze keeping it comfortable. Slow and steady as the track is rough but dry.

Ran on a bit further, ignoring Willow knowing he’d let me know when he wanted to turn, swans with their children gliding along the river, tide is low cygnets are at that stage of almost losing their ugly duckling look and turning from grey to white , One and a half kilometres, don’t want to overdo it so turned and jeffed back, cut across the track through the field, we jeffed together, no talking because now we’ve sorted out our music we are both listening to that.

We both really enjoyed our run this morning and Willow has found his enthusiasm yay 😀

Photo of the egret but not close.

Run happy all

The best part of your post is when you say "Willow has found his enthusiasm yay" that must please you no ends Sola, well done to him, glad you enjoyed your run today, that's another lovely photograph.

Thanks Al, I hadn’t realised because he was having trouble playing music in his watch so he didn’t have music to listen to on his run, he’s feeling good about his run this morning so it’s great 😊

Sounds wonderful!Little Egrets are lovely birds aren't they? They're pretty recent arrivals in the UK, and have been very successful. I can remember in the early nineties driving a 100 mile round trip to see one. To think they used to be shot for hat feathers!

Good news all round today - I know you're champing at the bit but half days is very sensible for now.

I’m going back to work tomorrow, half days and flexible working, I’m so chuffed, got an email yesterday evening 😀 makes sense to me. So back to the river this morning, then clothes shopping, we’ve been wearing scrubs for over two years and suddenly everyone is back in their own clothes, my old ones don’t fit 😳I’m so excited 😆 xx

Lovely spot for a run - great choice, Willow! Good to hear he is getting into his running again too. Hope your return to work goes well. Don't push it too soon though or it will get in the way of your runs. 😄😄

Ha ha yes it is going to get in the way of long lay ins and lazy plods in the mornings but they’ve agreed half days flexible working while I wait for next surgery and I’m looking forward to that 😀so will still be able to run after work 😂
