First tentative run fir 6 weeks

I finally managed to get out for a short run/walk after 6 weeks of a really nasty chesty cough. I managed just over 2.5k at a slow pace with a couple of short walking breaks. I was still coughing but at least able to breath reasonably comfortably

I don't want to push myself too hard, so will just gradually increase the length of the runs and will aim to be back running my usual 5k plus runs in a couple of months.

Yes, slow is the best way to do it. Wow, 6 weeks of coughing. I had just 10 days of it about a month ago and that was enough.

I hope you’ll be back to normal soon. 🙂

Six weeks is a long time to suffer....you, not the family! It's really debilitating. I've just had a week of cough and sore throat but managed a slow run this morning. Body battery back at 5 where it's been for a few days, but got up to 33 this morning so think I'm on the mend. I'm going to increase by 10minutes each 3Rd run, the other 2 will hover around 5k...

Definitely slow and steady for me until I can shake off the last remnants of this cough

Yeah. I reckon you'll be back to 5K in a couple of weeks or so rather than months. 10K may take a bit longer....

I don't like running when it's icy and my normal non-slippy off road route is water logged at present so that is also likely to be icy, so I may not manage my normal 3 runs a week I will be happy if I am back to nearer 4 to 5k in January
