Good Morning fellow runners πŸƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈ

Well after a long awaited chance to get some New trainer's, I managed to get a pair that seemed comfortable, there wasn't much choice in the shops I visited yesterday.

But excited to try them out..off I set at 7am thought I'd just do a short run see how they felt..

Took a route that was quite gravelly to test the comfort..all was well and I felt good at 5k so carried on..but into K 6/7 my toes were beginning to feel a bit sore..😦 Grrr.. I really hope they widen out a bit after a couple of runs or I will have to put it down to experience, buy another pair from a different store.πŸ˜‘

But on a positive note it was a beautiful morning lapping the lake, a sole majestic swan gilding the fog covered lake, and was thankful for his company πŸ™

So 7K this morning.. happy with that 😊

Happy Running all πŸ™Œ

I'm going to have to buy some new running shoes in a month or 2 I think. But people already warned me to not wear the new ones for long runs and continuously. They warned me to gradually wear them and keep using the old ones for a while. So eg. 1 run in 3 runs with the new ones and the other 2 runs with the old ones. And the new ones only for short runs in the beginning. So maybe try that?

Similarly I'm going to have to phase in some new shoes to replace the ones I've done about 575km in.

Hope the new shoes will be ok, once you've had a few runs in them, maybe leave the long ones, good distance today, with your 7k, i might run after work tomorrow.

Good luck with your new running shoes!!!I always find it really hard to buy new running shoes - they all feel comfortable like slippers in the shop when you try them on (and on the shop tread-mill if you are lucky),

but you only really learn if they suit you after a few runs in them.

The first pair of running shoes i had were Nike were great (maybe i should have gone up a size since i got a couple of black toe nails), but I really wore them out - wore the tread out and down to the foam, but the shoes themselves are still 100%. Still wear them to go out to the shops etc.

Second pair were Asics, but a little wide on the heal so move when you run & give you blisters. Third are Salming are ok - but padding around the heal has wore away quite quickly, so not great quality.

Time to look for a new pair so i can alternate?!

I know it really is a minefield, not like you can take them back and say they don't fit right πŸ₯Ί I found the best I've ever had were cheap ones from sports direct karrimor..think they were only around Β£25.. I actually considered re ordering those online while waiting for the shops to open, thinking I'd get a decent pair then..So I will try break them in on my 5K runs

Use my old ones on my longer runs and if they don't ease off just buy another pr of the Karrimor πŸ˜†

Thanks Dexy, I've read this before, but re-read again now 😊 I'm just in from a 5K in said new trainers and toes felt fine today ( maybe cutting my toenails last night helped)πŸ˜† but I will use my old trainers on Saturday on my intended 10K x
