First run since c25k

Hi all. I graduated from couch to 5k last Thursday and to be honest with you all knowing my usual unstructured attitude, I was concerned that that might be that. However I had a long day in the car on Friday circa 330 miles and spent a lot of the time debating my next run. I stopped for coffee a couple of times and checked in with health unlocked for advice. Lots of posts said don't overdo it and to consolidate with more 30 minute runs. Therefore I planned a route that would allow me a five minute walk to warm up then run a maximum of 5k and then a warm down walk, thinking all the time that without the app encouraging me I'd end up walking some or even worse taking short cuts.

I can report though that my new found desire and resolve to complete these runs held out! I ran the whole route, all 5k and when I finished I was shell shocked to find it had taken me only 33 minutes and a few seconds, even allowing to stop and collect my cap twice when the gusting wind blew it from my head! I now find myself, on Sunday evening, planning tomorrow's run. I may just have got the bug.....

Congratulations on completing C25K, I notice that the word GRADUATE is not next to your username.

Yes do run 3/30 minute consolidation runs before you think of what you are going to do next.

If you do want to see the word Graduate next to your username leave a message on the March graduate post in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked C25K home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K and graduated 🎓 🏃 😊

Hi AIMorr. Thanks for the encouragement. As far as my graduate badge is concerned, I think Millsie-J did it for me on Friday night though looking at my post it's not there! Will it only appear on the C25k section of the website as I added bridge to 10k after receiving my badge......

Yes, this is Bridge to 10K, thats why its not there, I am only on the C25K part but I sometimes encourage people on other parts such as this part, half marathon or marathon, I am invited to join those forms if I wish by tapping the word 'follow' at the top right corner of the healthunlocked C25K home page. The word Graduate will appear next to your username if you graduate from C25K, Graduate10 if you run a full 10K, half marathon if you run that and the word MARATHON if you have ran 26 miles.

Hi CarltonM

Yes you are right! You will see the C25k graduate badge on that forum, it wont show on the B2-10k site. Each badge is forum specific.

So glad you are enjoying your running 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️
