Mini run ... so right even when all things go wrong...

Annual leave day but feeling not so well on wakening up. ๐Ÿ›Œ๐ŸŒ… But sunny weather got me out, 1 hour after I heard the tell-tale sign of our front door opening once, then a second time 25 min later. ๐Ÿšช๐Ÿšช

This was my newly-running son slipping out at dawn and running his 3-4K lap before heading to school! (Yeah, right!? โ‰๏ธI am still astounded! See healthunlocked.com/bridgeto... )๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝ

So an hour later, me feeling leaden and slow, I went out anyway, because how can you not on an annual leave day!!??? ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

But it felt not quite right. My legs felt like led. My stomach had been acting up and also did not feel ok. ๐Ÿค’ So I cut my route short, and started heading back early after 15 min โฑ, but my Zombie Chapter had not quite finished, so decided to run the dog walk circle ๐Ÿฆฎ, which is a large grassy field with a circumference trail of ca 1k. ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™€๏ธ

Of course once you start, you have to finish that circle โญ•๏ธ and I realised a third way through, that the sharp pain in the inner left foot area meant I had forgotten to take out the thorn ๐Ÿ—กout of my shoe, poking through the sole, and which I had picked up at the end of my last run on Sat! Doh! I meant to pull that out before the next run! ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

But, yup, couldnโ€™t stop, even feeling ill, thorn in shoe, audio chapter not finished๐Ÿ“ป.... of course I had to run on. ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒ

Finished run, showered ๐Ÿšฟ , did yoga ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ and still felt ill ๐Ÿคง . But I did all that and am mightily proud.

Now itโ€™s raining โ˜”๏ธ . Husband has developed a cough ๐Ÿ˜ท and is now testing for Covid, so that might explain everything. But both of us have had both jabs

๐Ÿ’‰, so Iโ€™m sure we will not be struck too badly if indeed it catches us out.โ“

(20min later and tests indicate negative, so maybe just the โ€˜normalโ€™ sneezes and coughs ๐Ÿคง that go around?)

And I certainly am feeling better for having run! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝ

Wow well done for getting out and soldiering on throughout all those gremlin-inducing factors CBDB. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€ I can imagine how proud you feel having not given in to them. ๐Ÿ˜€

Weโ€™ve had colds going through our family too - nothing serious - but this weather is perfect for those pesky cold germs. Bet youโ€™re mighty relieved it wasnโ€™t *that* virus. Hope you feel better soon. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Thank you. Yes it was perfect timing as my annual leave day allowed me to take it easy. So I think I needed that. (Apart from a little run and yoga, which just made me feel great)

Yes kind of, but somehow for the way I felt and the number of gremlins, it was a great run! So all good in my book!

Some runs...are just bad runs CBDB ! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Hereโ€™s hoping the next one is thorn-free and better! Glad your husbands test came back negative but there are certainly a few nasty coughs and colds doing the rounds at the moment (non-COVID variety!)

Super well done to your son for his running! I have a 20 year old at Uni who has just about managed to sustain the running habit he got in to over the first lockdown. I havenโ€™t been able to influence my younger son yet unfortunately (he is also 17) but I live in hope that he will get the bug one day. My husband runs too, so 3 out of 4 isnโ€™t too bad! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks. Yes, i think I had actually forgotten about the common colds and sniffles during our focussing on something much more serious.

Thx!

Well I'm glad to hear you tested negative even if you have had both jabs. And very brave to go out and struggle on when you're feeling rough. I'm sure the next one will turn out to be completely smooth and enjoyable - but don't forget to remove that thorn!

CBDB profile image
CBDBGraduate10 in reply to Lifluf

๐Ÿคฃ yup, sat there yesterday picking out the culprit, a long hawthorn thorn. No shoe seems to be able to be immune against those! (But I do love hawthorn, so cannot fault it)

Pretty much. Just a bit more tired than usual. Thank you.

Uch, I feel terrible just reading your story! Hope you'll soon feel better and get that thorn out of your shoe!
