Lovely running dream...all I can manage right now!

Last run was Thursday 14th and then decided I had to take time out for an ankle niggle. Apparently I have a Peroneal Tendon there that objects to my running and so I am mollifying it with some resistance band exercises and calf raises for the moment which have all felt horrific and yet effective. In the meantime I've also got a hideous cold. Not running is really really getting to me but last night I had the best dream ever. I was running up a path with a really nice running surface and beautiful surroundings, actually running up a slight hill and feeling really good and totally enjoying the experience of the run and the place. This place was nowhere I know so my imagination did a great job in every way. Sigh! I think my ankle feels ready for a gentle outing soon, but I feel too rough. Desperately wanting to rejoin you all out there soon! I'll have a walk today instead and give the ankle an outing!

Ah well, at least it was a nice dream, unlike the one I have every so often where I can’t find any clothes to wear 😂 Here's hoping for a speedy recovery 👍

Hi Happysouls, my physio gave me similar exercises for an old ankle injury which hurt when I got towards the end of c25k . They worked brilliantly so do persevere. I ended up doing them on both legs though so that both calves got the same treatment. You’ll be back on the road soon.

My OH has dreams of running, but he’s most dangerous when he’s goalie in a football match!

Thanks for the encouragement. I am doing both legs the same. I do generally have pretty inflexible muscles so the more of this I do the better I think. Ouch to the goalie haha!

Oh boo happysouls. What a shame. You’re doing the right thing though, so keep up with your exercises and you’ll be back out in no time! 👍😀
