🍏When it all goes wrong 😑

I set off really early and at first it felt good! That awesome early morning air, the dawn chorus & time with coach B who left me with my music most of the time. It was a slow pace to avoid the toxic 10, so slow it didn’t disturb a flock of birds feeding for insects on the grassy field alongside the path. As I slightly upped the pace 2k’s into this recovery run I started to feel nauseous & sweaty… a new one for me… I slowed down a tad and ended up walking … felt a bit better so turned round and headed for home… picked up into a slow run until the welcome home doormat grinned up at me!

What was going on? Not sure 🤔However the one thing I do know is that I will be out again on Friday turning this practice run into a victory run. Why? Because I am a runner with a plan. Small goals, small victories will get me there! Yes!! 🙌 I do love running even on the days with no high and no joy! I take them because every time I get out there I am a winner! I learn about myself, about my running and how to keep on keeping on. If you are struggling put those trainers back on and try again. The love will return. It always does!!

Hi 🙋‍♀️Bonnie lass I’m pleased that you recovered from your spate of nausea. Sometimes that just happens and I really don’t know why. However it’s great to get out there and embrace the highs and the lows of running which is exactly what you did pet.

I love your post and your picture is brilliant where did you get that from ? .

I’ve just come back from being out with Steve Cram in my ear and now I have completed 2 weeks of C25K revisited. I must admit at one point I was running up a steep incline and found that a wee bit of a struggle and in my head I was willing Steve to tell me it was time for my recovery walk 😂😂.So looking at your picture was just how I felt 😂😂.

Have a great day Annie 🙋‍♀️🥰x

🍏Thanks pet.. whenever I see pics on the web I save them & then edit & make cards adding words, borders etc! Glad you & Steve hitting it off! Well done on getting another run done! You are getting through them now! Xxxx

You are a winner, great post from you, sorry about your nausea Annie, but you continued running because like me you love it, I ran another 5K this morning despite light rain ☔ coming on just as I completed the run, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾 👍

Annie, I actually started on C25K as early as September 2017 when I thought it was something to do with running 25 kilometers, I then watched The Great Scottish Run on TV, during that run there was a promotion for C25K and I started with run 1 of week 1 on April 18th 2018, two months later I graduated on June 18th with run 3 of week 9, never looked back since, Monday of this week brought back happy memories when I walked at the same place that I ran back in June 2018.

Do you think you might be coming down with something? Nauseous and sweaty sounds no fun at all. You did the right thing by listening to your body and taking it easy. Hopefully in a few days you’ll be recovered!

Sending hugs ❤️‍🩹

Thank you! Think it’s my meds but will be chatting to GP anyway so will mention it! Xx

Nauseous and sweaty could be nothing, but if it happens again it might be worth being checked out by your doctor just to be on the safe side.

I've had nausea a couple of times. First time was my horrible experience on my very first attempt at C25K on W1R3 and overdid things by having an unexpected little climb as part of the session. Nausea, palpitations, a stitch, cold sweat, etc. I had a tummy upset the following day.

The second was overexerting myself at one of the first parkruns I went to. On that occasion I noticed afterwards that my HR had pretty much maxed out.

Thanks for your concern. So appreciated!! I think it’s to do with horrid medication I am on & will be chatting to GP about it. Glad both your episodes resolved themselves. ☺️

My first one might have been medication related. I was on Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) at the time. It was only a few weeks later that I read the instructions that were in with the pills which clearly said, "Don't do exercise."

Sounds like a bit if something hanging over you maybe... a little nasty bug thing? Ease back now as you did on the run, well done you :) and rest up a tad... hopefully it will settle...

Just go out on Friday and don't think too much of it! I had this experiance at a very few runs, too, but never found out the reason. The next runs were ok again.
