Bit chillier than I thought.

I looked at my weather app and it said 6 degrees( didn’t mentioned the wind did it????). Ive run in short sleeved tee in 3 degrees so thought I’d be fine but I was flipping cold for most of the run and my hands had only just thawed by the time I finished.

I have had 3 days of a nasty UTI and ended up with antibiotics (which I had most of the side effects too, to add insult to injury )but I was determined to run today as I have a massage at midday and wanted to make the most of it. 🤣🤣

I had a nice early night but then at 2.30 I was awakened by my bedroom door sliding open. I usually keep it slightly ajar, with my dressingown hung up over the corner so that my door doesn’t rattle, because I sleep with my window open. But I heard it slide across the carpet and then I felt a gentle set of paws creeping across the bed - “ not heavy so not Mimi... not yowing pitifully so not Loki... not jingling so not Roma the only one with a bell... so it must be Luna. She is my Maine Coone cross and the only one strong enough to open the sitting room door. I marched her back downstairs and tied it tighter and went back to bed.

A while ago we decided it would be a good idea to put ball catches on the kitchen and sitting/dining room doors so the cats can open them. Laziness I know but it saves getting up and down every five minutes. I also have a Knitted Nancy string from sitting room door handle to my settee, so if I am sat under a couple of cats and one of the others opens the door to go out I can pull the string and shut it again without disturbing the ones on me and without me sitting in a draught.

Then foolishly when my sitting room to hall catch needed replacing I put a ball catch there. It took them 2 days to realise and I would be woken at 5 or 6 for their breakfast and if I ignored them they would chase each other around and over me until I got up. So every night now I take the string and loop it around the hall handle and up over the coatrack peg and fasten it. This has worked up to last night.

Luna apparently is strong enough to keep wrenching at the door until it shook the fastening loose and she got through. I think I am going to have to go back to a proper set of handles again. Shame as it’s so convenient when you come downstairs with arms full of washing and just shove the door or go up with a huge basket of clean stuff and can just hook it open with one finger

Consequently after the 2.30 wake up I couldn’t get comfortable, I had restless legs and tossed and turned and if I’d had a head torch I’d have gone for a run then!!! Then I had just dropped off when Levi got up to go to the gym at 6 and left the door untied. This time I had the whole mob up demanding food. They were STARVING!!!

So after a couple of days feel rough and hardly any sleep I wasn’t expecting much this morning. I managed 25 minutes at about 9min/km pace so not brilliant but better than I expected. Shower now and then Pilates to stretch out and then looking forward to my massage now.
