Went out for a run this morning, without a plan in mind, other than I ought to try and run up some hills. I have tried to avoid them since coming back from injury, but for a while now that's been due to laziness, not the danger of hurting myself!
Anyway, I started running and after about ten minutes I wondered what felt different. Then I realised my arms felt a bit chilly. It was lovely 😊
It didn't last long as I rediscovered the hills and ran up 3!!
Did 6km in total with 90m elevation. I was buzzing when I got home.
For the record, I only want to be chilly when I'm running. Other than that, I want the summer back please! 🌞

Well done on those hills! And I agree with you. I so nearly wore a running vest yesterday. I was glad I didn’t on my warm up walk, but after I’d been running for 10 minutes I wished I had!
Well done on tackling those hills!I love the breeze on my arms and legs when running. We might not have long to wait for warmer weather - the Met Office is saying we could get another heatwave later this month. Never a happy medium is there? 🥵🥶
Hi Lizcanrun, I find I run better on cool days as when it's a hot day, I find a big difference in the effort it takes. A cool wind towards the end of a run is like a blessing, cooling me off and giving me breath at a point when it's really a refresher to my tired, aching frame! The other essential required of late, is a lightweight rainproof jacket tied round the waist which gets me through passing showers and downpours - used a lot of late! However, after running i'm willing the sun to shine and remind us Summer is still here.
Well done with your hills, they will set you up for a strong running performance.
I suppose we all have to tackle them sooner or later - best wishes ☺️
This morning's run for me was in one of those odd transition periods of the day, the half hour when the sun gets to warm things up. I went out and it was about 12°C, but in half an hour it had climbed to 17°C by the time I'd got back. Nice and cool in the shade but when you got into the sun you could feel its power.
